Post by - Sam and Atticus

We did it! 1000 piece puzzle.
What was the hardest part?
Max, our Cat, liked to try to do the puzzle too.
What did you like the best?
We glued the puzzled and gave it to our Aunt Clover for her Birthday. She loved it!
How long did it take?
We started in February and we had it finished in the middle of March!

Sam is Eleven!

Happy Birthday, Sam
We celebrated with a pool party. It was a special day! The sweet part...was not the cupcakes, it was what Sam said to me when I tucked him in,"Thank You Mom and Dad, it was a great party! Thank you for letting me have it"

HE IS RISEN!

He is Risen!
Jesus' tomb was empty because He rose from the dead!

As He rose from the dead, Jesus did what no one had ever done before or since. Being both God and man, he overcame sin, death, and hell. So, sin, death, and hell no longer have any real power over those who believe in Jesus and have His Spirit leading them.
Now, when you think of the empty tomb, remember that Jesus rose from the dead and is alive. Remember too, that Jesus comes into empty, dead hearts and fills them with His Spirit, giving new life!
Will you allow Him to roll the stone away from your empty heart?

Easter Craft

Easter Craft Time!
What do you need?
newspaper, glue, water,  a bowl for glue and water (a work bowl), a cereal bowl for molding the nest, cling wrap and shredded paper.
Lay newspaper down around your work area. Lay a flat sheet of cling wrap on the newspaper. This way the craft will not stick to the paper. Put cling wrap around the bottom of cereal bowl and set upside down on the flat cling wrap.
Make a mixture 1/2 water and 1/2 glue in your work bowl
start to put the shredded paper into the work bowl, coat the paper with the glue mixture - set the paper on - around the bowl. DO NOT PRESS
Once you have placed the shredded paper on the bowl, let it sit to dry for 3 days. After 3 days slowly peel the cling wrap from the bowl and nest.
A fun Easter Nest!
My friend Sandy helped me do this craft last week at school. The kids loved putting their hands in the glue mixture and then working the paper. You do have to work the paper, coat each piece, but remember do not press it on the bowl, set it on the bowl. They all turned out cute. Add some Easter grass, candy or eggs.
Have fun preparing for Easter this weekend.
Thank You Lord for Jesus!

Egg Hunt

We have enjoyed doing the Resurrection Egg Hunt with our boys for several years now. Each year it is exciting because we forget what is in each egg. Donkey, Coins, Cup, Crown...Empty! It is a great way to celebrate Easter.

First grill of 2011

We always put our grill away at the end of October. In April we pull it out again. We get very excited for the first grill night. Last week, we had our first grill...Pork Chops. YUM!
Our grill will be 14 years old in May. We got it as a wedding present. No, I do not grill. I should say, I do not usually get to grill. I do grill, but usually when my hubby is not looking or not home. All in fun. When Jeremy and I got married, he asked if he could be the one to grill. I did not have a problem with that. A lesson learned early in our marriage, I opened the grill to see how things were cooking. I thought it I was safe, I did not see Jeremy.
Oops, not really a good idea. :)  Jeremy was watching,he gently asked me what I was doing. :-) I smiled and laughed lightly. No harm done! Jeremy is the grill master in the family. He does a great job!
His trick to making the best GRILLED PORK CHOPS - he cuts the bone out, to make them boneless. I will share more of his tricks as the grill season continues.
We serve the pork chops with fried potatoes and a salad.

Helping warm the bulbs?

I started some dahlias in pots. This is the first time I am trying this. One afternoon I noticed Max curled up on the nice warm rocks. The spring sun streaming in through the patio door warmed the rocks...I guess Max thought it was a perfect bed!
The boys thought he might be part snake, finding rocks comfortable to sleep on! Silly Cat!

Movie night

We recently borrowed Legendary from the Library. It was a good movie, it has an interesting ending. All four of us at the TePaske house enjoyed it. Let us know what you think of the movie. Start popping the popcorn!

Lego City - Police

Post by Sam and Atticus
We got this Lego set for our Birthdays. Grandma and Grandpa got us this set to share. It is called Lego City Police Station. The bad guys steal money from the ATM machine and the good guys have to catch them. It is so cool because the station has windows, a coffee maker in the breakroom and a mug shot room. It has a desk and computer too. It has an evidence room, jail and  K-9 units. We named the dogs Rex, Cody and Echo. The police have handcuffs and pistols.
Don't mess with Lego City Police...they Rock!
This is a close up of the station.
Thank You Grandma and Grandpa!

Spring Weather

My sister lives in Merrill, Wisconsin. She called this morning to let us know they are okay. I decided to blog a few of the You Tube Videos to give an idea of what the storm looked liked. She has trees down and power lines down at her home. Her house is okay and she is looking at the rest of the property. Her friends are not doing as well. One had her home damaged and her cat was killed. The dairy farm she worked at as some damage as well, but fared out better then the farm next door. The farm next door has major damage, several buildings are completely destroyed.
When something like this happens we always help each other. I remember when we had a bad storm in 2001. People were out helping clean up the roads and making sure everyone was okay. Even though we look at this as bad and sad. I also end up feeling good inside when I listen to the stories of how we all pitched in and helped each another. It makes me proud to be American, we are a good people. We work hard to get back on our feet! Sending a message to Merrill...you will be back on your feet soon. Hang in there!

But the people who trust the Lord will become strong again. They will be able to rise up as an eagle in the sky. They will run without needing rest. They will walk without becoming tired. Isaiah 40:31

Flower craft

I recently did a fun craft with our school and Sunday school.
All you need is paper and glue. I used glue dots, less mess. You roll your paper to create your flower. The kids enjoyed it and they all turned out different. We added a Bible verse on the stem of the flower.
Happy Sunday!

Boys Post - Saturday April 9, 2011 - Planting with Mom

We started some plants in shoes to put out in the garden. We planted cat nip, lettuce and marigolds. They have really grown since we took the following photos. We might pick some of the lettuce this week to eat. It was fun to pick out the seeds and fill the shoes with dirt. Mom thinks it will be fun to have the shoes mixed in the gardens this summer. Have a good weekend. Sam and Atticus :-)

Spring has sprung a leak!

Mud
 Ruts
Early Spring - Yuck - It is my least favorite season. We have a mess in the yard, and no place to play. I always moan when this season of mud, dog poop and dirt is around.
I will sing a happy tune, that it will not last long, the sun and wind will dry the ground. I soon will be out with my rake, all ready to make my yard pretty as a lake,cake...mm mm... can you help me finish?
:)

Look what I found!

We had some rain and warm weather over the weekend. The snow banks are starting to melt away. I took a walk around the yard and  was very surprised to see my daffodils peeking out. They had to have been growing under the big snow bank to be so far along! I was so surprised! Yes, I do talk to my plants in my garden. I welcomed them and said "Oh, it is so good to see you" I looked up to see two people walking by on the street. They just smiled! Maybe they talk to their plants too. Or they smiled at the crazy lady talking to her plants in the snow!

Let us not grow weary...

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Galatians 6-9
