Young Readers

Our boys read Turn Homeward, Hannalee to me. It is a powerful story about the Civil War. It made for great family discussion and learning.

I read Across Five Aprils to the boys. I cried while reading it to them, it is very powerful. The love the family has for each other and how the war takes its toll on each member is a true lesson. This story also takes place during the Civil War.

  2. First of all, I *love* that you read to them and they read to you! What a fun trade! And, thanks for the book recommendations. I am always on the lookout for books to read with my children. :)
