Surprise!

Hello,
Many of you know, my grandma died in January.
Our family helped with the cleaning of her apartment.

This was not much fun. It bought back a lot of memories and made me feel so sad inside. Yet, God had a surprise for me.

I gave her this pattern as a gift for her birthday in late August.
As we cleaned her sewing area, there is was on top, all done and waiting for me to see. My grandma loved to embroider. She was very talented at it.
It was a special surprise.

"Of course, countless numbers of things can be bought in stores, but somehow, store bought presents do not always convey the warmth we hope will accompany the gifts. When people take the time and care to make the presents they give, they put into the gifts not only the materials needed, but also a part of themselves."

  3. What a treasure she left you! That is a beautiful needlework, she was skillful. Life holds both sadness and joy...it is bittersweet, isn't it. Thankfully the good is wonderful and the gift of life from God is priceless. And eternal. What hope, comfort and joy that gives us. May our Lord bring many happy memories of your Grandmother to mind often...and never forget, what made her ....'her', is in you also. Peat and repeat...a bit...love in Jesus, Maggie Ann Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints....Psalm 116:15

  4. Oh my goodness, that is lovely. I am so sorry that you had to clean out your Grandma's place but what a beautiful piece of art to have come across. How touching that the pattern you gave her, she so lovingly completed and left it on the top of her pile. I hope you'll do something special with it...though, I am sure you will.
