Storyteller ~ Tracy Chipman

Last week we attended an event at our local library.
Storyteller Tracy Chipman

Enjoying a good story.
How fun it was. She used her hands, arms, eyes and facial expressions to tell us several great stories.
I loved to peek over at my boys to see the expression they made.
One story she shared was a riddle. As she told the story we had to continue to try to solve the riddle along with the character in the story.

A little red house
With no windows or doors
With a star inside
And when you find it, you will receive something good to eat!

Do you like a good story?
Do you have a good storyteller  in your family?
Or are you the storyteller?

  1. Stories. Yes I love stories. When I taught history there was no boring text but used novels and told stories about people who made a difference in history. I also had students write a lot. I like to tell stories and write myself so when I retired I found blogging a fun outlet. Unlike most everybody else I thought Facebook quite restrictive and had no interest in it.

  2. My mom was the storyteller and it was always so much fun listening to her. Story telling was very common when she was growing up as it was a form of entertainment. We have storytellers who visit our public library.
    Have a great day.

  4. I claim that title in our family. I am, the story teller...and let me tell you....when I was a kid that was NOT such a good thing! lol My mother did everything she could to squelch me, I think....but once I learned truth from "stories" it got better. My little SweetCheeks is a story teller, too. She is very entertaining and I think our youngest grandson at age 2 is already telling stories and struggling to find the words to do so sometimes.

I will go check this lady's blog out! Thanks! xo Diana

  6. That sounds like such fun. I like to read poetry aloud....not quite story telling but I love poetry and the way it flows. Enjoy your evening! Sweet hugs, Diane

  7. That's the sign of a good storyteller...being able to keep kids engaged! They're so easily distracted.
