Sunflower Seeds

Each year I try to dry our sunflower seeds for the birds.

I lay them out and get them all nice in the sun.

 Almost ready!

I am thinking,"Oh the birds will be so happy this winter, and so will I, watching the birds eat the seeds."
 I am so happy!
The next day I head in to check on my seeds and a mouse, chipmunk or squirrel has found my sunflowers in the sun.
And I ask myself...what are those darn cats doing?

Living the life of a cat, of course.

Have a great weekend my friends!

  1. This is so funny. I had one single little sunflower that grew close to where one of the bird feeder is and I had high hope of harvesting the seed head but just when the seed head was ready, something beat me to it. They clipped the top of the seed head and made off with it. Probably one of the pesky squirrels around my house. lol.

My barn cats are somewhat lazy too. It's really a cat's life.

  5. Those cats certainly look like they enjoy life. Both are gorgeous and obviously very much loved.

  6. Cute kitties. I suspect that if we kept our cats slightly hungry all the time, they'd take their job more seriously! Tuppence is the same way. Lol Mouse? What mouse? Go get it yourself. :-) Next year I'm raising sunflowers. Remind me. :-)

  8. Your cats are the sweetest!! What are their names? Sorry about your sunflower seeds, that is such a bummer! You did remind me though to get out and pick up some of the seeds I wanted to save for next year. Thank You for that! And for sharing pics of your sweet kitty cats!

  10. That's so sweet of you to go to all that work to take care of the birds! My stepdad had a bird feeder by the driveway. Bird poop EVERYWHERE. I think he finally moved it somewhere where the bird poop wasn't quite so...in the way!

  13. Precious cat pics. Too bad about the seeds. About the only seeds we collected this year were marigolds.
