Everyday Blessings

"As the years pass, I am coming more and more to understand that it is the common, everyday blessings of our common everyday lives for which we should be particularly grateful. They are the things that fill our lives with comfort and our hearts with gladness -- just the pure air to breathe and the strength to breath it; just warmth and shelter and home folks; just plain food that gives us strength; the bright sunshine on a cold day; and a cool breeze when the day is warm."
Laura Ingalls Wilder, Writings to Young Women from Laura Ingalls Wilder -
Volume One: On Wisdom and Virtues

 Hello Friends,
I am back. We enjoyed a beautiful Easter with family and friends. I have so many fun adventures to share with you. I hope you enjoyed a beautiful Easter weekend.

Prayer request ~ one of our dear family friends is not well. She had a surgery in late January. Sadly, she has not healed from the original surgery. The doctors are going to try an oxygen therapy. If that does not work, she will have the leg removed.
Thank you for the prayers. It is hard for her to stay optimistic when she is dealing with such pain.
Thank You!

  1. I am glad to hear you had a nice time with your family and are feeling refreshed. I will pray for your family friend tonight. I am not familiar with that particular book where your quote came from although I have read many other books by the author so I am going to check that out!

  8. I'm so sorry to hear about your dear friend, Carla. I will say a prayer for sure. Now, is this the Laura Ingalls Wilder from Little House on the Prairie? How did you know that was one of my favorite shows? I watch the reruns every week. What a nice picture of your boys. Sons are so special, aren't they? The pictures of the flowers are very lovely.
