Rain

The rain was like a little mouse,
Quiet, small, and gray,
It pattered all around the house
And then it went away.
It did not come, I understand,
Indoors at all, until,
I found an open window and
Left tracks across the sill.

  1. What a beautiful poem...I love the idea of it leaving little tracks across the sill. It reminds me of a hot summer day, and a well deserved rain on windowsills framed with antique lace curtains...

Thanks for dropping by Carla, I think the email from WP has glitches, if you want to try the one on the sidebar now it should be working.

  5. That was nice to read ... and we do need rain, and I like the photo.

Wouldn't it be good to have rain when we sleep just the right amount of course and then some dry / sunny weather during the day. Perhaps we may find that too boring ! I don't know ...

    All the best Jan

  8. What a delightful poem and photo, Carla. I love the rain, and it rained for just a bit this weekend. We sure could use it here in California.

  9. I was weeding for three days and got chased inside by rain today. A good thing as I was dead tired since I've been weeding until 9:20 PM every evening until I could not see the weed. Not much time for blogging lately.
    Hugs,

  10. Hi Carla, The poem really creates a mental image.
Our little cat, Ditto, passed away today. We will miss him so much.

  11. What a a sweet poem, never heard it before. I like the rain, in small doses, windows open, on a summer day. Reminds me of when I was a little girl!
