The Chance to Do....

"With each day, I give
thanks for the blessings of
 life--the blessings of
another day and the chance
to do something with it."
 Mamie Till Mobley, Author

As we come to the end of another year, we reflect and look ahead.
Dreams, goals, resolutions...whatever you call it. We all have them.
I want to do this_____  in 2016.
I have a goal to ______ in 2016.
I am going to work on my dream of ______ in 2016.

Do you have a dream, goal, or resolution you want to reach for this new year?

I do and I am going to continue to share it with you right here on The River this coming 2016.
Some days I feel small in this big world, and I want to give up. Some days I get scared and I do not want to try. Some days I feel like, so many people already do this...why would they like mine.

Then I remember, God made me who I am for a reason. And I need to follow Him and my heart to do just what He wants of little ol' me.

"Don't be sad because you are small." said Mrs. Field.
"Small creatures can do wonderful things."

  1. Dear Carla, I think that most of us can relate to what you are saying. Those are the valleys and peaks in our lives. It's always harder climbing the mountains than coming down.

We are all so unique and if we stop comparing ourselves to others and focused on all our gifts, we would be overcome with amazement and gratitude.

All the Best for the New Year my sweet friend.

  2. I agree with Julia! We are all here to serve a purpose for His glory. None of our meetings are by chance, but are always perfectly orchestrated by Him, to provide what we need when we need...for a reason, a season or a lifetime! I set goals and am sometimes disappointed when I can't accomplish all that I think needs to be accomplished, but when I reflect on things, I know that all was done that needed to be done!

I am so thankful and so blessed that our paths have crossed and am excited to see what the future holds for us both!

I hope your Christmas was blessed and also hope that the start of this New Year holds many blessings for you and your family!

    Hugs sweet friend!!

  3. Boy can I relate. I feel small sometimes, too, but I promised myself that I was going to try to stay focused on my strengths in 2016. It's so nice to know that I'm not alone! :) Best of luck to you my friend for a wonderful New Year!!!

  7. You've nailed it. And we need to share how we find those wings to fly to carve a path for others who may not have the courage...yet.

  10. Hi Carla,
What makes your blog wonderful is it is unique to you. Love bloggers that keep true to themselves and don't try to be like others. That is what makes it fun to come and read your posts. I look forward to you sharing yourself with all of us in the new year. Happy New Year.
