It is a Faith, Love, Hope and Peace Hodgepodge

My mom and little me.

Hello, Wednesday!
It is time for the Hodgepodge.
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.

 1. March is National Women's History Month. In that vein, who are three women who've been influential in your life? How so?

My Mom ~ she has taught me so many things. She has been patient with me. She encourages me as a mother. She helps our family in all ways that she can.
We do not live in the same community. We do not see each other often. But that does not stop her from helping, sending hugs as little things in the mail and encouraging all of us.
My Grandma Vida ~ She was just fun to grow up with. She loved her family and friends. She also taught me so many skills.
My Grandma Martha ~ She was fun to grow up with. She was a rural mail carrier for 40 years. I went with her on her route many times. Those times have great memories. I learned from my Grandma Martha to help those in need. She was very generous.

2. In what ways do you think women have it easier than men?

As a mother of boys, I think women are blessed in the way it is easy for us to communicate. I really can see that as my boys grow older.

3. What do you need most right now: faith, love, hope, or peace?

Peace
I am starting to fret over the up coming election.
I need to remember God is in control!

 4. Do you have a collection? If so, what do you collect and why?

I love collecting nature. I have rocks, sea glass, pine cones, feathers and birch bark added in my decor.
Heart shaped rocks are special finds. The one above is a larger heart shaped rock my son Sam found. I place it in a potted plant each Spring.

5. Plaids, checks, polka dots, stripes...your favorite?

My husband and I received Stormy Kromer hats for Christmas a couple years ago.

I love plaid!

 6. In what ways are you the same as your childhood self?

I love to giggle, laugh and make other people laugh!

7. You're a contestant on the TV game show Jeopardy. What category will you ace?

Geography

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I think Mud Season has arrived in Wisconsin.
We enjoyed temperatures in the 60's the last few days.

Think Spring!

  1. Such a beautifully written post Carla, I can really feel the love you have for your mother and your grandmothers. We learned so much from our mothers and I truly believe our relationships can shape the type of mother we become! It's safe to say you had some great role models! Mud season here too and today we're expecting record-breaking temperatures of 72°! Unreal!!!

  2. It's so easy to fret. I have found I just cannot listen to too much election/political talk. I educate myself, read, vote, and pray. It's a distressing time for our nation, on so many levels. I think often of the verse in Daniel (2:21) that says, 'He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding' I'm praying often for wisdom in our leaders and our voters. I think too many are voting from a place that's unwise.

  4. The category is Geography. The question is: Do you know where Dallas, Wisconsin is? LOL I LOVE that heart-shaped rock! I love it that you keep it in a plant. So pretty! It will be interesting to see what happens in this election to a nation that has turned its back on God. I think that repentance is the key. Love the pic of your mama and your little self. xoxo

  7. My favorite answers are the ones that share your mom and grandmas with your readers. I think we learn so much from these primary women in our lives. I miss my grandma Mary everyday. Also I'm getting worried about the election too, crazy huh?

  8. You have had such amazing women in your life, you are so blessed!
You are definitely right about Mud Season! This is the time of year I kind of miss living in the city and having pavement!

  9. Influential women in my life - my mum, both my grandmothers, and an aunt.
I have an old printers tray on my wall filled with feathers, shells, beach glass, interesting stones and tiny knick knacks.

  16. I kept my eyes open for heart-shaped rocks last summer when we were digging in the dirt around our house. I found only one. I like the one your son found. Memories of your mom and grandmothers were sweet. I wish I lived closer to my granddaughter so we could spend time together. Have a great week, Carla. xo
