I Like To Move It ~ It is the Hodgepodge

Peek a Boo ~ We are on the move.

It is Wednesday and it is time for the Hodgepodge!
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.

1. What would you say is the best and worst thing about moving house?

I think the best thing about moving house is that we go through our items. We might toss some stuff or donate or sell.
The worst thing about moving house is the packing up.

 2. What's moved you recently?
Our recent road trip to South Dakota. We hiked a day in the Badlands National Park. Amazing! The land, soil, climate is so different. The name Badlands means nothing grows. I was moved when I found this brave little flower blooming in this land.

 3. Do you feel your life is moving forward, backward, or is on hold? How so?
I am moving forward.
This summer I started selling my fresh cut flowers at the Bruce Farmers Market. A friend of mine inspired me to look into another avenue to sell my flowers.

  4. On the move, move mountains, get a move on, it's your move, or bust a move...which phrase best applies to some aspect of your life right now? Explain.
On the move ... Tuesday was my first official brain storm meeting to start up my new idea of selling fresh cut flowers. Getting down on paper, trying to not let fear let me back down from trying and keeping that brave attitude to move on.

5. What song makes you want to get up and move?

 6. Your favorite snack to grab when you're 'on the move'?
Mixed Nuts

7. What one accessory makes your house feel like home?
Candles

 8. Insert your own random thought here.

  1. I enjoyed this post, Carla and also was moved by that single flower, that single sign of life. I can think of so many spiritual applications.

  5. Great quote. That is such a funny song, but I remember it from the 90s before the movie. I hope your new flower business goes well :)

  6. That one flower growing in the midst of death. I love it! And also the pic of the dog in the car. Too cute. Good quote from Julia Child, too. Good luck on the flower business growing.

  11. I love that small flower growing in the Badlands. Even though it is getting colder, it is good to keep moving! You must have a gorgeous garden to sell so many flowers!

  12. Your photo of the brave little flower moved me too. I LOVE fresh cut flowers and head directly there when visiting the farmer's market. I have not found an outlet for affordable fresh cut flowers in my new town. It's a very small town (pop. 1284); we do have a little farmer's market, but no flower vendors...UGH! I miss having flowers in the house. Hope you have a great week!
    Cheers!

  13. Oh Carla, I love that you appreciated that one little flower blooming in the barren land. I love candles too; they sure do make a house feel cozy and welcoming.

  14. I've never heard this song before, I love it! I sooo agree with you on the plus side of moving being it is a chance to go through your belongings, and reduce. This is the longest I have gone without moving for quite a few years, and I can tell things are accumulating!
Anxious to hear what is coming next for your flower business :)

  18. Good luck with your new flower selling idea. I think books/magazines make a home, they show the interests/ quirks and personalities of the people living there, and of course a cat.

  19. Ugh...the idea of moving makes me cringe. I am so excited about your flower business. It's wonderful to pursue a dream and see where it goes, especially when it makes you so happy.

  20. That is really neat to see a flower in the midst of all that dirt. It's neat to see that you're going to be able to start your flower business.

  21. Love the photo of your doggie. John and my brother were intrigued by the Badlands, too.
All the best to you with your flowers. My tiny 7 yr old neighbor girl gifted me a gardenia today - melted my heart! Wishing you all a nice upcoming weekend.

  22. I am so happy that your goal to sell your flowers came through...it's life changing, isn't it? Dreams do come true but not magically as you well know. Hard work and persistence is more like it! :)

Love the flower growing out of nowhere.
