.... it all began Friday ....

It all began Friday!
I was planning to write an On The Road Friday post.

My mom called to say " your dad will be having oral surgery on Tuesday"
My boys and I took some extra time to make something fun to mail to grandpa during his recovery.

The weather was lovely and a hike was calling to me.
Saturday I worked on expanding my flower gardens, planting spring bulbs, lilies and peony.

The next thing I know, Monday is here.
Our son Samuel will be starting his first part time job in the Sporting Goods of Farm and Fleet.
He is so excited.
My husband and  I are too. It is fun to watch our children grow and get excited about new adventures.
With that came paper work and scheduling.

And a call from my husband that a friend of ours father died.

The next thing I know, it is Wednesday!
I am going to take the rest of the week off from blogging.

Have a blessed week my friends.

My flowers are still blooming. I made a bouquet for our friend using marigold and dill.

  1. Enjoy your break. Thank you for your kind comment on my post.

  2. My dear Carla, isn't it amazing how quickly time flies by! I hope you enjoy your little break from blogging :) And please know that your dear friend will be in my prayers.

  6. Sending prayers, thoughts and a big hug - life can get so overwhelming and all at once! I'm thinking of you and I bet you didn't even know that while all that was happening, yesterday you made my day when I received the most beautiful postcard from you, it meant so much that you were thinking of me! Hugs my friend!!! xo I hope the first day in the job went well!

  7. Who would have thought of marigolds and dill making such a beautiful bouquet. I love it! Don't the busy day simply fly. I'm happy for Samuel and his new job.

  20. A first job for Samuel is exciting news! You are raising adventurous sons and I know he'll do great. Life surprises us at every turn and you're putting first things first, which is the way it should be. And looking ahead to your spring gardens!

  21. Oh Carla, I was sorry to hear about your friend's dad.
I do hope your own dad is recovering well and that your son likes his new job.

That bouquet is lovely, the colours just perfect for this season.

Have a good blogging break - see you on your return!

    All the best Jan

  22. Praying your Dad recovers very well and sorry about your friend's Dad.. Everyone is so busy and time flies these days, eh? Take care and have a great weekend. xo

  23. Carla, I just got your Halloween card in the mail. Thank you for the kind words. I love getting surprises in the mail!

Happy Halloween! Hope you and the boys have a fun time. :)

  24. What a week you have had. Looking forward to seeing all your lilies and peonies in bloom. Winter in Auckland is just not cold enough for me to be able to grow peonies, however they do grow well in other areas of NZ. Hope you had a lovely weekend.

  25. Carla... it's amazing how quickly how a well planned week can turn upside down! The flowers are gorgeous. Enjoy your Halloween.
