Joy List Monday

Joy List Monday
♥ a weekly ritual ♥

a reminder to stop and pay attention to the little beauties and graces that make life magical and to set aside time for gratitude each day

♥ this past week our family went on a road trip to South Dakota, it was full of fun, laughs, adventure and memories that I will hold close to my heart forever ♥

♥ laughs .... our youngest son can make us laugh ... when traveling for over 12 hours in a car ... a class clown is what you need

♥ amazing weather ... we had a week of hiking planned in South Dakota ... not a rain drop ... high in the 70's and lows at night in the 40's

♥ wonder ... this land of ours is full of beauty all around us ... visiting the Badlands of South Dakota was one of my favorites, a strange place for a gardener like me, because nothing really can grow in the Badlands ... that is why they are called the Badlands ... yet so different I fell in love

♥ working together ... watching our boys help pack and unpack as we traveled ... looking for exits on the highways and offering a helping hand when asked

  1. Sounds like a perfect getaway. My brother and husband traveled to the Badlands a few years back and just were blown away by the scenery.

  4. Your photo is gorgeous!! And I learned something new today. Badlands. I always thought they were named this because of the old west, and the villains. Feel free to laugh. But it is because nothing grows! This is a very cool thing to learn! So...what was the best part and what did you love, considering nothing grows?

  5. The Badlands? I've never heard of that area before, but you're such a master gardener that I think it's funny that you found it pretty! Is that a photo of it at the top of the post? So happy you had a great weekend.

Family road trips are so much fun, and how awesome that you were able to do so much exploring together, and have made such special memories together - those indeed are the very best of times! And it never hurts to have someone with a great sense of humor, can certainly help the miles pass, lol! Hugs to you today dear friend, so happy to share your joy this Monday :)

  16. Sounds as though you all had a great time. Thanks too for your explanation on IG on the Badlands. My son is the family clown too - probably the class clown at school I imagine also.
