Joy List Monday and March Weather

Joy List Monday
♥ a weekly ritual ♥
a reminder to stop and pay attention to the little beauties and graces
that make life magical and to set aside time for gratitude each day

This does not look like JOY .. well that is me about March weather. I am not a fan of the month of March in Wisconsin. Spring fever has set in, we look outside and see that lovely sunshine. We step outside to a freezing cold wind blowing hard making your eyes water. We have days in the 50's and think, yes, an early spring and then a wet heavy snow dumps making everything messy. Speaking of messy! Early Spring in Wisconsin may as well be called MUD SEASON! We really have FIVE seasons here in Wisconsin, MUD SEASON comes before true Spring.

If I seem a wee bit grumpy during the month of March. It is because March and I do not get along. Did I happen to mention, I HATE MUD!

I am going to pull up my boot straps and charge into the month of March with a Joy List Monday!
Here we go!

 ♥ sunshine
♥safe travels to my parents .. spending a lovely day with them
♥ cozy evenings sitting by the fireplace with a hot cup of tea, a warm blanket, a kitty on my lap and a good book
♥ honey .. I just love honey. Thank You bees!
♥ my new lemon scented candle

  1. The lemon candle sounds nice. I have a new bar of handmade soap that is lemon scented..so fresh and nice. It's our best time of year here in Florida. When our temps are good and we've had very little precip. (and could use some) What a difference a few hundred miles makes! lol Enjoy your day my friend! Hugs, Diane

  3. Mud here, too. Seems we are always mopping the kitchen floor. But the flowers are coming up! I just hope another early frost doesn't come along and kill them all.

  4. A lemon candle sounds nice and fresh. I have lemon hand wash that I like. Yes, it is good to be thankful for all the blessings. (I love honey on a hot biscuit for breakfast/)

  6. It's February that gets me grumpy, but then I do live in the "south." ;-) At least in March things start emerging and even blooming. I have Snowdrops just about to bloom--under the snow after tonight. No sign of the Crocuses, but the Daffodils are about 2-3 inches out of the ground. Yippee!

  7. I think I'd be grumpy all winter, I don't like mud, or cold and I'm not sure how I'd cope with snow. Here's hoping you have a happy March.

  8. I'd hate all the mud and the snow before it. I'd be permanently hibernating with a cup of tea, a good book and a scented room. Alas no kitty though. Hope the weather improves for you soon.

  10. Mud gets me grumpy too but it's the price we have to pay to get into spring mode. Your Joy list makes March bearable. March came in as a lion here too and it's been windy but snow is still melting. I hope and pray for no flood this year.
    Hugs, Julia

  11. I am so with you on the Mud issues. Our backyard is a mud pit until we can do something with it this Spring.
When they built the garage and poured the new driveway last fall they took up half the grass in the back yard. So now it is just a mud pit. We have boards down and construction fence to keep Peggy on a path of less mud when she goes outside. Until we can do some landscaping and build a deck it is just ugly and a big mess. So I get what you are saying about finding no joy in Mud! Lets hope we see March start to turn to Spring soon. Have a great week.
    Hugs,
    Kris

  12. January is usually my toughest month to get through. February being a close second. March is usually windy and the weather is unpredictable, but I know spring is on the way. Loved your joy list, a lemon scented candle sounds so nice! Have a wonderful week! xx Cheryl

  13. Carla, I am sending you a big warm hug. Bless your heart you gave me such a laugh. I loved the cartoon and all that you said in this post. I have to watch my hubby or he will track in muddy shoe prints and act totally deaf when I say, 'WTH" LOL. Blessings to you, hope March it warmer and dryer. xoxo, Susie

  15. March weather can be cold! Our mud season hasn't started as all we are getting is snow.

  16. In like a lion and out like a lamb...or out like a lion in my neck of the woods. Like you, we sometimes get snow into April around here, with just enough warm days in between to make it really sting. Not fun!

  17. Wow, I could have written these same words, except it would be about February. At least in March we have more daylight and fluctuating temps that are trying to rise. Then again we don't get as much mud here maybe, because we're mostly on sandy loam. You don't like March because it's not good skiing weather. ;-)) loved your post and your evenings sounds like mine! XO

  18. March makes me ever so grumpy too my friend! I feel like Wisconsin is a lot like
New Hampshire! And we are getting up to 18
Inches of snow tonight. I feel like it may never end!
