Game Time ~ It is the Wednesday Medley

 It is Wednesday!
That means it is time for the Wednesday Medley.

Terri asks the questions.
We answer the questions.

1.  It may be a little shocking, but National Static Electricity Day is January 9!!  Do you often get shocked often when you touch metal?
Thankful to say, no I do not have to much trouble with Static Electricity. I do have trouble with lighting. September 2017 lighting hit my bird feeder. It continued to travel from the bird feeder to the side of the house.
Thankfully, we only had a small amount of damage.
I will take Static Electricity Day instead of National Lighting Day. Ha!

2.  There are actually two "National" days worthy of mention! It is also National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.  Our men and women working in many areas of law enforcement put their lives on the line for us daily.  Do you know someone working in law enforcement who you can thank today?
Thank You, John H, for your service!
Wisconsin State Trooper

Thank you to John's father who also was a Wisconsin State Trooper, his sister and our dear friend Mike K.

3.  At our house right now it is all about football.  Joe's Philadelphia Eagles barely won their game on Sunday to move forward in the playoffs and another chance to play in the Super Bowl this year.  Do you have a favorite team in the playoffs or does football make you yawn?  Is there a Super Bowl party in your future, no matter the teams playing?
No Football fans in this house.
Baseball is our sport.
Go Brewers!

4.  Speaking of parties, there is always lots of food at parties I attend.  Tell us a weird food combination that you really enjoy (or have enjoyed).  It doesn't have to be party food.
I like having pickles with my spaghetti. Am I weird?

5.  Since we are on games and parties, what game have you spent the most hours playing?

We have been playing Yahtzee. I got two Yahtzee the last time we played!
Yay!
6.  Tell us something random about your week so far.

We have NO SNOW! It is January 9th and we have NO SNOW!
Our family are Cross Country Ski people. Winter with NO SNOW.. GOODNESS!

I guess I will join Max and sleep until Spring.
Ha!
Happy Wednesday Friends!

  1. Good morning Carla! We've had no snow but I've had a different reaction. Pure joy. Hope you get some soon! Have a great week.

  2. You know you're not going to get any No Snow sympathy from me, LOL. But actually I really am sorry for those of you who love it. I would love it too if it would just stay off the roads. Pickles and spaghetti sounds good to me. Have a good week, Carla. xo

  3. I'm thankful for no snow but I guess if it's messing with your weather generally having no snow is not always good. I love Yahtzee and did I spot a cribbage board in your first pic? We like that too. But I'd rather be your cute cate lol.

  4. I've never heard of pickles with Spaghetti. To each his own...lol.
That's unfortunate that you don't have snow so you can ski. I prefer no snow but I know it's better for the fields if there's snow. I don't like slippery roads and sidewalks. It's weird that the lightning hit the birdhouse and then your house.
Have a great week. Hugs, Julia

  5. Thank goodness that lightning didn't do worse damage! I am with you, I don't mind static shocks, but am frightened of lightening! Phil hates static shock. Whenever he gets shocked, he jumps with both feet off the ground. When we are around people, like in the grocery store, people's reactions are amusing and we have to explain. He doesn't try to do it, it is just instinctive. We know nothing about Yahtzee, but now I am going to google it, sounds like fun! Pickles and spaghetti doesn't sound too bad. I used to love lime sherbet with chocolate sauce.

  6. I am with Max and just want to sleep until Spring!!! Not sure about pickles with spaghetti together but separate I love them both. Terry was upset with how the Bears lost on Sunday by that one kick!!!!! I guess there is always next year. Have a great week.
    Hugs,
    Kris

  7. Good morning Carla! Yeah to no show! We have the same here in Pittsburgh...crazy but awesome! Little flurries today but still nothing big! So happy about that! I love Yahtzee - I played electronic Yahtzee on the plane when I was flying every week! LOVE IT! I honestly do not think I could even attempt pickles and spaghetti! HA!

  9. Living in Texas, everyone here is a Cowboy fan...except me! I grew up in a state where there were no pro teams, so I've always been about college football. Sadly, my team lost the National Championship Game this year. Frankly, I think they were getting too big for their britches and needed a little bit of humility. I like pickles with my PB&J, along with some potato chips! :-) Love and hugs!

  10. Yes, pickles with spaghetti is VERY weird, but I'll let it slide since baseball is your sport! Go Cubs Go ;P

  11. We haven't had much snow either, until this past Sunday night when we got close to a foot! I hope you get some snow soon! Cross country skiing is my favorite winter sport too! Yahtzee is a lot of fun to play, must have been exciting to get two Yahtzee in one game! I've never tried pickles and spaghetti, but it sounds very interesting! Have a blessed week :)

  13. Pickles and spaghetti...yes that is weird, and do you add pancake syrup like "Elf"? LOL

  14. Yahtzee is our game passion right now, too! As a matter of fact, I just bought my sister a flat lined leather dice cup to play with for her birthday since the loud rattle was annoying her. Ha!
