Lemon Meringue Pie

My mom treated me with making me my favorite pie.

My photo does not show just how amazing she was able to do with her meringue. She did her very best! Can you guess how many egg whites she  used?

What is your favorite kind of pie?

Animal crackers, and cocoa to drink, that is the finest of supper, I think.
When I am grown up and can have what I please, I think I shall always insist upon these.

  4. Looks like we share the same favourite. My mom still makes this when I come to visit. I'm not so fussy about meringue but I sure do love lemon.

  6. Oh my! PIE!!! And that is a beauty! I have no idea how many egg whites she used, but it is the prettiest L.M. pie I've ever seen. It probably tasted amazing as well. Your mom is a sweetheart!!!

  9. Looks beautiful to me! I think Kahlua pie is my fave, if I had to pick one! Today is my dad's 94 birthday and he has always had pie instead of cake, his favorite -- blueberry:-)

  13. The kind of lemon pie your Mom makes is my all time favorite. I think she used about 5 egg whites. Did she use anything else in the meringue (sugar? cream of tarter?). I have an Amish recipe where a cornstarch mixture is used with the egg whites to keep it from collapsing. Please ask the expert for me.
