On the Road Friday ~ Northern Wisconsin State Fair, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin

It is Friday and it is time for.. On the Road Friday!

July 9th, Jeremy and I decided to visit the Northern Wisconsin State Fair. We had not been to the fair since 2016. We enjoyed several shows. A comedy routine, several bands and dancers. We also enjoyed seeing the animals, eating some fun fair food and we even went up in the sky.

Here we go to the fair!

I always love seeing the cows getting all pampered and ready for the show.

I fell in love with these Miniature Hereford Cattle. They were cute and gentle.

My sister has this breed of chicken. My sister's hen is named Millie, I sent her this photo to share that Millie's friends where at the fair.

Keeping the sheep clean for the show, with these pretty outfits.

Another shot of my favorite, the Hereford.

Brown Swiss.. another reminder of my sister, she loves Brown Swiss cows.

It is time to eat! There were so many food trucks. It was really difficult to decided. We decided on Island Vibe~Caribbean Food.

And Up we Go!

Our boys apartment is that away.

We had a fun day at the fair. We enjoyed a bag of kettle corn and blackberry ice tea too.

Thank you for coming along today!

On the Road Friday ~ Wisconsin State Fair .... there is so much to see

We are on the road today. We are heading back to the Wisconsin State Fair. So many fun things to do at the fair. One of my favorite animals to look at are the chickens.

I thought this was interesting. This lady is sitting and doing a water color of one of the many beautiful pigeons.

Racing Animals
This is so fun. You get to pick out your favorite pig, duck or goat to win the race!

We got to meet Alice in Dairyland.

Zoey Brooks is Alice in Dairyland. She is blessed with this auto to drive all around Wisconsin.
She was very nice. It was fun to meet her.

 Back to the racing!

 Go little pig! Go!

"Oh No, Blue is catching up to me! Run goat, run!

I love looking at the flowers, vegetables, art work and photography.

 Fairy garden galore!

Me and my sweetheart!

And our last stop for the day. Milkhouse! .25¢ Milk!!
They serve up a variety of flavors, birthday cake, rootbeer and good old chocolate!

Looking forward to visiting again in 2015!

On The Road Friday ~ Wisconsin State Fair ~ Original Cream Puffs

We are on the road today, to the Wisconsin State Fair.
We are actually right in line to buy the famous Wisconsin Cream Puff!

Look at all the Cream Puffs!

It is fun to see how Team Cream Puff works. They do a great job keeping the line moving and making up the most wonderful dessert!

Filling the insides up with cream! Yummy!

Some fun facts about Wisconsin State Fair Cream Puffs

The iconic Original Cream Puff, sold at the Fair since 1924, is the most popular food item among Fairgoers – an average of 350,000 are consumed each year, and more than 400,000 were enjoyed in 2014! The delicious cream-filled pastries can be enjoyed individually or in three- or six-packs. The Wisconsin Bakers Association operates the Cream Puff Bakery in the Original Cream Puff Pavilion, two additional conveniently located vending locations in the Fair Park.

Can you believe it, 400,000 were enjoyed in 2014! I ate one! But could have eaten many more.

Guess what?

On the Road Friday .... Wisconsin State Fair

 Wisconsin State Fair - August 1 - 11
We actually have not been to the Wisconsin State Fair as a family. We hope to visit next summer. I think the boys will enjoy it.
I grew up going to the State Fair because we have family that live down in Southern Wisconsin.
I have many fun memories.

My sister has been working a food booth at the Wisconsin State Fair, this will be her third year in the Baked Potato Hut.
She says it is crazy busy, but so much fun.

I always think it is amazing how they can set up the Fair...and get the animals into the city.

Fair food is always the talk of the fair. This year about 70 new foods will be featured at the fair.
A sampling:
Beer battered macaroni and cheese bites with Jack cheese and bacon.

Beer battered bacon wrapped Cheddar hot dog on a stick.

Beer Doughnuts.

Cajun frog legs on a stick.

Dippin' Dot's float.

Garlic buttered new potatoes on a stick.

Pizza nachos.

Reuben brat on a pretzel roll.

Spicy white Cheddar popcorn.
 Cheesy Mexican tortilla fries.

Chipotle ranch chicken sticks.

Cuban coconut ice cream sandwich.

Deep fried peanut butter and bacon nuggets with Berry Weiss Jelly.

Deep fried taco cheesecake.

Hot pretzel with bacon and chocolate sauce.

Iced Irish coffee float.

Krispy Kreme burger with spicy Pig Candy.

I am excited to hear about what my sister decided to try.
I think the Garlic buttered new potatoes on a stick sound good. Not sure about the deep fried taco cheesecake...just writing out the name gave me belly ache.

How about you? What do you like to eat at the fair?

Thank you for coming along today...to sample some Wisconsin State Fair food.

Have a great weekend!

I love fair rides at night, they are so pretty!

I love posing for this photo.

It is so beautiful.

The boys with Aunt Sally and Uncle Paul.

I think they should have done the kissing pose. Just kidding!

That is our trip to the Houston Rodeo at night.
Have a great weekend!

It is Fair Time!

We will be visiting the Northern Wisconsin State Fair this weekend for the first time. We like to take in fairs. I grew up participating in 4-H. I sold a sheep every year at the Price County Fair at our Market Animal Sale. I will never forget my first lamb I sold. Yes, I cried, I loved him so much. His name was Washington. It is fun to visit different fairs to see what the kids are up to and how things have changed. States or counties do different activities or judge exhibits differently, we find it interesting. Last year we took in the Montana State Fair that was a lot of fun. Check out the beautiful ribbons the folks receive.

I decided to do a trip back in time...ready, set, back in time to 2008!
Barron County Fair
Our boys participated in 4-H and look how excited they are to be involved with all the fun activities our county fair provides.
Our club booth of 2008.

A sweet heart with two boys.

Harness racing at the Barron County Fair.

Going on a ride with Dad. Look at that smile!

My favorite! Sheep! Do you want to come home with me?

What's up Doc?

Hey buddy, what pen are you suppose to be in?
How about you? Do you like to go to fairs? What is one of your favorites? What do you like to do at the fair? Besides eating cotton candy :) Hee Hee, I love cotton candy. My hubby always buys me a bag to bring home.
Have a great time getting out and exploring!
