.... do you have a favorite rhubarb recipe to share?
I love Tasha Tudor. No rhubarb recipe to share, but I'd like to find a gluten-free cobbler recipe and make it with rhubarb. I quite enjoy fruit cobblers. Have a lovely day, my friend.
ReplyDeleteYum I love rhubarb. Here's one I posted http://ourlifeinaclick.blogspot.com/2011/06/strawberry-rhubarb-compote.html. I've also made a rhubarb crisp but I don't think I've ever posted it. Yay for May!
ReplyDeleteI need to plant some rhubarb in my garden! I don't have any! I remember my mom used to make a lot of things with rhubarb. I'll have to ask her about a recipe :) Are you making a cobbler? Love Tasha Tudor's quote... happy first day of May!
ReplyDeleteHi Carla! Any updates on your Dad? Is he in therapy? Can you believe I have never tasted rhubarb? But you sure make it look purty in this picture.
ReplyDeleteLove.
ReplyDeleteI have a favorite rhubarb recipe that I've made for years and my family loves it.
ReplyDeleteI saw the same recipe on Taste of Home .com. It's called Rhubarb Meringue Dessert and it is absolutely delicious. My rhubarb is just starting to grow and is not ready yet but I will be making this dessert soon.
Hugs, Julia
Never tried rhubarb :-) I love Tasha Tudor... there's just nothing like enjoying nature.. Have a wonderful day!

I have never tried it. It used to grow in our backyard and the kids would say it was a weed...I think I was in high school when I heard you could actually eat it!! ;) I have heard of strawberry rhubarb pie. Do you make that?
ReplyDeleteHappy first day of May!! I have never tasted rhubarb.
ReplyDeleteHappy May Day Carla! I have only tried Rhubarb once and it was in a strawberry pie!! Hope you have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteHi Carla, Happy May! I only tried rhubarb one time and it didn't taste good to me. Don't know if it was just me or what. But I do love Tasha Tudor! She was such a talented lady. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother used to grow rhubarb and it felt like the first indication that summer was around the corner. I remember lazy early summer days with her and we would pick it fresh and she would sprinkle sugar on it. Probably not the healthiest but I always loved it. My sister-in-law makes a mean rhubarb pie, absolutely delicious! I love your joy list, especially the extra hugs from your boys !
ReplyDeleteHappy May. I confess that I have never tasted rhubarb. John remembers his grandma making strawberry rhubarb pie when he was little.
ReplyDeleteWhile we aren't enjoying daffodils, we are starting to enjoy our bleeding hearts. Usually our first bloom here.
ReplyDeleteMy mom makes some desserts that I am told are amazing with rhubarb. But, I do not have a loving relationship with that garden fresh treat, so I stay away :)
Good Morning Carla,
ReplyDeleteI have had strawberry rhubarb pie and it was good. Have a wonderful new week.
Hugs,
Kris
Happy May! May is my favorite month! I have never tasted Rhubarb. One of these days I am going to. Those are all good things in your joy list.
ReplyDeleteMy very, very, very favorite rhubarb dessert: Rhubarb Meringue Torte.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't remember if I had sent you my rhubarb crostata recipe, so have just emailed it to you. Delicious.
ReplyDeleteHappy May Wishes.

All the best Jan
I love your list and your idea to take joy (another Tasha Tudor quote, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteWe used to have to eat rhubarb when mom made it. I bet I'd like it now.
I've never looked for joy in rhubarb, I've never even tried it. It could be my new thing for May.

I've never cooked with rhubarb but have been seeing a lot of recipes on Pinterest.
ReplyDeleteCarla, I actually have a book of just rhubarb recipes! I heard about it on NPR once and just had to have it - it's called Rhubarb Renaissance by Kim Ode (it's available on Amazon), and it has recipes for appetizers, salads, entrees (yes, savory meat dishes including rhubarb!), desserts (of course!) breads, and beverages, too! Let me know if you ever want to borrow it!
