Springtime Chicks

Happy April! Are you busy getting ready for Easter? Easter is my favorite time of the year. This year I wanted to be sure we found time to reach out to our neighbors and elderly with a spring time basket. We worked on making fun Springtime Chicks. They are easy to make...lets get started.

For each chick, cut an end cup from a cardboard egg carton and trim it and cut out another and trim it for the head. One should be a bit smaller then the other. See photo, below.

Paint! We used yellow, green, blue and purple. Let dry.

Cut simple feet and beak shapes from card stock.
Glue on feet, beak and googly eyes.

We used a chenille pipe cleaner to make the bobble - head, we glued the pipe cleaner to the top of the body and inside of the head.

Last, decorate with feathers. We also glued the feathers, using hot glue. We used  a low temp hot glue for this craft. The boys had a blast. Dad came up with the idea we were making a flock of Angry Birds (Jeremy loves that game

Have fun making Springtime Chicks!
