Pileated Woodpecker

I know this is not the best photo. But if you look really hard...you can see a Pileated Woodpecker eating from our feeder. We could not believe our eyes, to see this big bird in town. We have had the blessing of seeing them in the woods. But to visit the feeder was a real treat.

Length: 16 1/2 inches
Wingspan: 29 inches
Habitat: Mature conifer and deciduous forests and large tracts of mixed woodlands.
Diet: Mostly carpenter ants, beetles, insect larvae, wild berries and acorns.
