Happy Belated Birthday to my Sweetheart.
January 24th!
It is Wednesday, that means it is time for the Hodgepodge.
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.
1. Speaking of endings....at your wit's end, at loose ends, a dead end, burn the candle at both ends, all's well that end's well, or no end in sight...which 'end' phrase might best be applied to your life lately? Explain.
at your wit's end
Our family got the flu! Bad, bad, bad news. My husband and I both have not been ill in years. We are thankful to be back to the living this week.
2. What was a must have accessory when you were growing up? Did you own one? If so tell us what you remember about it.
I do not remember a must have accessory while growing up. It will be fun to read others. It might trigger my memory.
3. Something that made you smile yesterday?
Those two boys of mine. My oldest has really been a silly as of late, always making me laugh.
4. January 30th is National Croissant Day. Do you like croissants? Sweet
or savory? We're having chicken salad for lunch...would you rather have
yours served on a croissant, a wrap, a bagel, bread, or a roll of some
sort?
I like croissants. My youngest son Atticus LOVES croissants and if they are in sight, he will eat as many as he can. We like both sweet and savory.
I will have my chicken salad in a wrap. Yum.
5. Sum up your January in fifteen words or less.
We got the flu. Missed a week of life, including my husbands birthday.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
We have several fun activities coming in the month of February. Happy everyone is on the mend to enjoy. We have two ski trips planned and a special Winter Carnival we are attending.
I could really go for one of those cupcakes right now! Yum. Love your son's name by the way. And flu is no fun...continue to be on the mend.
ReplyDeleteHi...I am here from clicking on your comment link at Ginny's red head ducks.
Have a Fun and Fantastic February with the boys!!
ReplyDeleteHow do you spell the scrunchies??? They hold your hair. Otherwise I can't think of anything either. Enjoy your skiing trips! xoxo Su
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you had the flu (all of you)....we have it in our family, too, but so far I have been spared even though I have been caretaking one of the little ones that has it. Fingers crossed here!
ReplyDeleteLove your answers, Carla, and love the picture of you and the boys. xo Diana
I'm glad you're all feeling better. It makes you really appreciate your health, doesn't it? Happy Birthday to your honey! I'm ready for January to be over, bring on February! I used to carry a comb in my back pocket, was that my accessory?
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday to your husband. I'm glad you are all feeling better. I think I wanted a little house with the proverbial picket fence and a husband and two kids when I got older. lol That's the only thing I can remember... I wonder if anybody else wanted this, lol...
ReplyDeleteI love that cool snowman with the glasses. Goodbye January and Hello February.
Hugs, Julia❤️
Happy Birthday to your husband! I love the picture of you and the boys. It's so cute how tall they are getting, "taller than mom"! The flu is scary this season. Hope you all stay well.
ReplyDeleteThose cupcakes look yummy, Carla. Happy belated birthday to your sweetheart. Love the smiles on your boys' faces (yours, too!). My favorite accessory as a little girl was my pop beads. That was probably before your time, but for me they were so cool. :) I love croissants and actually ordered one at Starbucks yesterday for our drive back home from Lewiston, ID. It's been a long time since I've had one because we're 99% gluten free, but yesterday I couldn't resist. Oh, it was soooo good. It sounds like you've got a fun February planned. Glad you're enjoying good health at your home, again. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteYummy on cupcakes and happy birthday to your hubby. I'm sorry you both had the flu, but glad you are recovering. Great pic with your boys. That is a fabulous treehouse!
ReplyDeleteThis snowman is awesome!! So glad you are better, and now will have a month of fun. I hope you post about the carnival. I love this picture you and your boys! Is that a giant tree house?
ReplyDeleteThat's the cutest snowman. Did y'all build it? I'm happy y'all are feeling better. Last week I had chicken salad on toasted croissants almost everyday for lunch!

So glad you're feeling better my friend! LOVE learning more about you and your sweet fam! xo
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are feeling better. That had to be so miserable. I love croissants too especially warm and with lots of butter. Have a good week now that you are feeling better. Happy Belated B day to your hubby.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kris
I'm so sorry your dear family suffered that nasty flu! But I'm glad you have some great adventures coming up in February!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're feeling better and hopefully fully recovered soon. Belated birthday wishes to your hubby. I hope you get to do a proper celebration at some point. Sounds like lots to look forward to in February :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you guys are on the mend. Ugh, getting sick is the worst. I hope you were able to catch up and celebrate your husband's birthday or have plans to do so soon!
ReplyDeleteLove that cupcake! Glad you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm.... those cupcakes look divine! And oh, how happy I am that you and your family are feeling better! My, what a time you had.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
That is a great snowman! So happy you are all feeling better now! That flu going around seems to be unforgiving nastiness. Thanks for visiting my HP! I'm late getting to posts because we have had company. Enjoy your February!
ReplyDeleteAnother food Atticus and I have in common, the croissant!
ReplyDeleteDid you have ribbon barrettes growing up? That was the first thing I thought of when reading that question. Like these: http://www.liketotally80s.com/2011/03/ribbon-barrettes/
So sorry to read about your battles with the flu. So far my flu shot is doing its job. SWMBO has been spared the flu also but she compensated with a couple of infections. UGH! I am with you on the accessory question, I apparently did not get it.
ReplyDeleteAll the best on your ski trips and at the winter carnival. Have a wonderful week.
Those cupcakes look delish! The flu bug has been going around the country, I hear. I'm glad to hear you are over it now! Have fun on your ski trips!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're all feeling better. So much flu everywhere this year. Enjoy your February travels! And your weekend : )
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry Y'all got the flu! A friend's husband has been in the hospital for two weeks so far from the flu. They had them call in the family at first thinking he wouldn't make it but he did. They hope he'll come out of ICU this weekend. It's just awful! February sounds like it's going to be a blast!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear you are on the road to recovery. Enjoy your February....
