Pray, love, remember and it is the Hodgepodge

Hello Friends, it is Wednesday and that means it is time for the Hodgepodge.

Joyce asks the questions.

We answer the questions.

Click here to join the fun!

 1. What gives you energy? What takes it away?

Having a fun project to do gives me energy.

Time with my family and friends gives me energy.

It might seem strange, but working in my garden gives me energy. If I am having a bad day, just feeling low and tired,  a bit of gardening usually helps me feel better.

Drama ... drama saps my energy.

When things should really be easy, but red tape makes them difficult, I get very tired, very quickly.

 2. How often do you shop for clothes? What accessory do you always wear?

I shop for clothes if I need something for an occasion, like attending a wedding or fun party. I will shop for clothes if something I currently have has seen its day. I recently purchased a new sweatshirt.

I wear earrings everyday... in fact I feel naked without them. Hee Hee!

3. What's something free that you feel grateful for?

LOVE

I am so thankful to be loved by my family and friends.

 4. Breakfast, lunch, dinner...which meal of the day do you enjoy most? What's your go-to comfort food?

I will say dinner because I enjoy dinner with my husband most evenings. I do love our weekend breakfasts together, my husband enjoys making breakfast for us on Saturday and Sunday.

My go to comfort food is.. chicken noodle soup.

 5. This week the world remembers the tragic events of 9/11. Do you mark the day in any way? How do historical events shape your perspective on your personal challenges?

My husband and I pray for those who have died, not just on September 11th, but years later from the toxic air that those later developed cancer from. We pray for our military. We will reminisce about what we were doing September 11th  during our evening conversation.

Historical events shape my perspective on my personal challenges in ways of gratitude.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Autumn is starting to visit around here. We dipped down to 36 degrees over the weekend. Summer is coming back this week. I am alright with that.

  1. Beautiful flowers! We dipped, too, temperature wise at night and we're also going to have much warmer, summer type weather for at least the next week. I said the same thing you did about dinner- it's the only meal of the day that I regularly eat with my husband. Agree about drama and red tape as being draining! Have a great day!

  2. What a beautiful picture of flowers! I agree with you about the red tape. I work in public service and it so draining dealing with it. Some days I want to pull my hair out! Stopping by from the hop!

  3. We are currently having lovely weather with sunny warm days and cooler, but not cold, evenings. Ah yes, red tape is draining. I've recently had to interact with a government agency and they didn't make it easy, but it's done! I wanted to pick up some mums this week, but I know we'll be hot again before October rolls in so I'm waiting. Have a great day!

  4. Hello sweet friend. I always love your answers. It seems like there is always red tape and no customer service anymore. Hope you have a great rest of the week. Hugs. Kris

  6. We didn't get quite that cold here, the low 40's enough to put the wood stove going to take the chill out. Loved your answers.

  7. Very thoughtful. I agreed with everything you said here, with the exception of the meals. I really can't pick a favorite meal. Otherwise, yes, yes...especially the return of warm weather for a couple more weeks...

  8. I agree that time with family and friends gives us energy. Drama sucks. I only shop if I need something special to wear. I wear my earrings all the time. Love can be so beautiful. I enjoy dinner too with Mark and once in awhile we will have a breakfast together. Yum, chicken noodle soup sounds wonderful. I love you and your husbands prayers for 9/11. Wow, 36 degrees!!! Enjoy the rest of your week.

  9. We haven't had a visit from Autumn yet. Days in North Central Texas are still quite warm and the pollen count is out of the roof. We are still getting air quality alerts. UGH! I cannot get in the mood to decorate for fall, which is my favorite season to change the decor, because it is still very much summer here.,

  10. I shop for clothes when I need them, but do purchase a sweater for Christmas each year. Pray for the 9/11 victims and now for Charlie Kirk. So sad he was murdered today. What is this country coming to. Janice

  12. I feel naked without my earrings as well. Yes, dinner with my husband every night is nice and I didn’t think to mention that but it truly is. Take care, my dear and God bless you.
