Happy Wednesday
It is time for the Hodgepodge.
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.
1. Are you a risk taker? To what degree?
I am not. I hold the cards steady in the game of life.
But in a game of cards, I can get risky, it usually pays off.
2. What's your favorite candy? Would you say you have a sweet tooth?
Right now, I am enjoying Dark Reese's Thins ... thank you to my mom for gifting me some in a Trick or Treat bag she made up for me and my husband.
I do have a sweet tooth.
3. Somewhere you've been recently that had you feeling 'like a kid in a candy store'?
I was at a local plant nursery. Hold me back, or all the plants will be coming home with me.
4. What do you think is the most effective way to make a positive change in the world?
I just had this conversation with our village clerk. She is dealing with a lot of negativity in our village. Sadly, community is no longer a strong point in our little village, it once was, but it has changed after COVID and it is SLOW to come back.
As I shared with our village clerk, friendly communication is the key to starting to make a change, in my opinion.
5. Do you like surprises?
I do.
If they are good surprises.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Goodbye October .. thank you for the amazing weather for us here in Northwest Wisconsin.

I feel the same about our October weather. It's been a beauty.I think many good things in society have been slow to return post-Covid, which is sad. How sweet of your mom to make you a trick or treat bag : )
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you. Our weather has been fabulous. Enjoy those Reeses! Hugs Kris
ReplyDeleteGood morning Carla... Beautiful Fall up there in your area. We finally have a cool morning today..in the 40's. I'm not a risk taker..probably should be a little more than I am. Make sure you don't give your Trick R' Treaters the dark Reese's thins... Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteYum to the Reese's and how nice of your mom making a Trick or Treat bag for you and your husband.
ReplyDeleteAhh! I get like that when it comes to buying plants. hehehe
That is such a shame about the negativity in your community. I hope things are better soon.
I'm glad that the weather is treating you right. I assume winter is a bit brutal there?? I like your play on words with the game of life and cards- so clever! I like to look at plants as well and do tend to overbuy. Have a great one!
ReplyDeleteHey Carla. Sorry I haven't visited like I should. I've simply got to get back to sewing and blogging more, especially more visiting blogs. Your river header picture is beautiful. Had to sit and look at it for a minute. I am not a risk taker either...just the opposite. I agree with you on most all your answers...Oh except for the dark chocolate. I love milk chocolate. :)
ReplyDeleteSo you are living in a village...is that like a really small town? I would love to go with you to a plant nursery of garden center, we would both be so excited and it would be so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteI never heard of Reese's Dark Thins. We are having a heat wave today and will be near 100! I live in the city and not many fall trees. Your picture is so nice!
ReplyDeleteConversation is such a good start to understanding a person. Reese's dark thins, I'll have to keep my eye out. Glad to read you are having a beautiful autumn!
ReplyDeleteDear Carla, your photos are gorgeous. I enjoyed reading more about you.
ReplyDeleteLook at that fall color - beautiful! I agree that I only like surprises if they are good surprises. How nice that your mother made you a treat bag for Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your answers, Carla. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a risk taker, but if it's something that important, then I'm a prayer. : ) The dark Reese's Thins sound Yummy. I'm sorry your village has had some negativity recently. If there is anyone to get that back, it's you, Carla. I love surprises too.....good ones. : ) Your Autumn photos are so pretty. I hope you have sweet November days ahead.

Enjoyed reading your answers. I am not really a fan of surprises though myself. I hope your community gets back to being normal. so sad. Janice
ReplyDeleteGood answer for #1. I haven't seen those thins. I know I would love them. I love how much you love plants. Sorry about the negativity in your village. Yes, good surprises are always welcomed. The trees look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to Wisconsin - but, goodness, it looks pretty! Glad you enjoyed a pretty autumn - before the Wisconsin winter sets in!!:)
ReplyDeleteWe have neighbors who live in Wisconsin but spend the winter down here in Texas. I've never been there but hear it is a beautiful state.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your answer to #4 - establishing friendly communication is way more effective in bringing positivity and finding common ground than being critical or negative from the start.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I visit the garden center at my husband's work, I want ALL the planters! But I know I can't keep them all alive, because I have a black thumb. Hope you're having a great week!
Lately, I've been eating Werther's hard caramel candies. Too many...my friends said I'm like an old grandma with had candies in my purse. They don't turn them down when I offer them one though! Hahaha.
