Hello Friends,
I love reading Judy at Cranberry Morning when she answers the Hodgepodge Questions. I thought, why don't I join in the fun.
You can too, just head on over to From This Side Of The Pond
1. American Idol is back for a 14th season. Are you watching? Have you
ever watched? If you were to audition for the show (or were made to audition), what song would you sing?
I have never watched American Idol. I will not be watching this year.
Sadly, I do not sing very well. And would not make the show.
2. Mark Twain is quoted as saying, "If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."
So when did you last have to 'eat a frog'? Or two? How'd that work out?
This may not sound very pleasant. I am not sure if the plumbing in my house is bad or if my boys just do not flush the toilet right. I just do not enjoy plunging toilets. And this is something I seem to have to do often. YUCK!
I am the mother of two wonderful boys, Samuel, 14 and Atticus 12.
3. If you were going on safari, what is the number one animal you'd want to see?
4. January 21st is National Granola Bar Day. I know. Do you like
granola bars? Chewy or crunchy? Your favorite flavor? How about regular
granola? Let's exhaust this topic in honor of the holiday okay?
What a fun holiday to celebrate. I love granola. And I just won a giveaway from Lucy's Granola!
I will be posting more information about my win in a future blog post.
Extra Seedy Granola is a favorite of ours from Lucy's Granola.
We also enjoy Bob's Red Mill Granola.
5. If only__________________________________________.
If only my boys would flush our toilets slow and hold it down a bit. Instead of fast and in a hurry to wash their hands (they better be washing their hands) I would not need to plunge toilets!
6. You can add one item to your bedroom. What will it be? Keep it family friendly please.
A few more outlets. We only have one!
7. What is one thing you've enjoyed about winter thus far? If it's not winter in your corner of the globe, what season is it, and what is something you've enjoyed about whatever season it happens to be?
Cross Country Skiing
I love to cross country ski.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
"We'll be Friends Forever, won't we, Pooh?' asked Piglet. 'Even longer,' Pooh answered."
-A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
I have heard the frog quote before...I too have teens and have become well acquainted with the plunger. Ugh! In my bedroom, I would add speakers, it's the only room without and I love music! :)
ReplyDeleteThis really is a fun post! I'll try to take part soon! Love the Pooh quote....ahhh....friends forever! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this, Carla, and now I know some things about you I didn't know before. Cross country skiing would be fun, I think. I've never tried it. Last week I saw a neighbor on cross country skis, heading down the block (we had a lot of snow on the ground). I thought to myself that her mode of transportation was much safer than mine of walking and trying not to avoid the icy patches. Have a wonderful day! ~ Nancy
ReplyDeleteInteresting post. It is always fun to find out new things about people. I have cross country skied. Though it has been a long time. It is fun though. I work in an older hospital and in one area the toilets clog up a lot! I have to plung at least one a week. Too much paper usually. So I know what you mean. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post Carla, and it's hard to believe this, but I never knew the names of your boys! I enjoyed reading these answers and getting a glimpse of your world. That Pooh quote is a favorite.
ReplyDeleteI love your maiden voyage into the ocean of hodgepodge!! Tell those boys to frequently flush or patiently plunge. I guess if that's their worst flaw...:-)))
ReplyDeleteHi, Carla...I'm your newest follower! Oh, my goodness...how I wish I could snow ski! Tried it several years ago for the first time in CO. and about killed myself I fell down so many times...even underneath the ski lift!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Hodgepodge. I hope you come back again...and I hope your boys flush and wash!
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud at the toilet flushing! Oh the joys of boys. At least they ARE washing. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, only ONE outlet?!
Welcome to the Hodgepodge!
Such a great post! Those boys need to learn how to plunge too! Only one outlet in your whole bedroom? Oh my goodness! I just counted at least 6 in my head that we have.
ReplyDeleteLove this post. Love the names of your two boys.
ReplyDeleteLove the questions and answers!! I have two boys also so I know where you're coming from............like the bathroom......with a plunger.......lol. Have a great day!!
ReplyDeleteNice to "meet" you through the Hodgepodge. Cross country skiing looks like a great workout, but I've never tried it. I do like sledding though :)
ReplyDeleteThat was interesting, Carla.. I always love questions and answers.. Blessings.. xo
ReplyDeleteI like your answers, and the Piglet and Pooh quote is a favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteI love your responses...especially the last one!

Love this post, it helps to get to know you a little more! LOVE your boys names - I don't think I've ever heard you say them before! no worries on American Idol...I don't think you're missing too much ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't know why builders are stingy with the outlets. We're fine upstairs, but I'd love another in my foyer. There's a big wall where I have a table, and it would be perfect for a lamp, but no outlet. Welcome to the Hodgepodge! Glad you joined in today : )
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! I hope we see more Hodgepodge from you! Hope you are enjoying the mild temps we are having. I would think they would be good for skiing?!
ReplyDeleteLoved your answers..Winnie the Pooh is never wrong.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first Hodgepodge too...wasn't it fun?

I enjoyed reading your answers but so glad my toilet works. Janice
ReplyDeleteThat was fun to learn some new things about you. I love cross-country skiing, too. I haven't done it for a while, but I love it. My husband and I do a lot of hiking--in all seasons. Great answers. Cheers!
