It is true, I never tried SPAM until Labor Day weekend 2015!
We were visiting special friends, who found out from our boys, that no one in our family had tasted SPAM. I now can say, I have eaten SPAM.
It was salty. I liked the Jalapeno over the original.
Yes, can you believe it? A SPAM Museum. Click the above link for more about the SPAM Museum.
SPAM, Monkey Bread and grapes.
Have you eaten SPAM?
Do you like it?
Do you have a favorite way to eat it?
Animal crackers, and cocoa to drink.
That is the finest of suppers, I think.
When I am grown up and can have what I please, I think I shall always insist upon these.

Have a great weekend!
Carla---Where do they kill those Spammers in the woods to use to make Spam? lol Nope- not a fan at all! Hubby loves it but he only eats it if he goes camping with the boys. ugh...not for me! lol xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI have never, ever tried Spam! I don't know if my hubby has...I must ask! Ps...I think you are very brave. ;)
ReplyDeleteNo I don't think so. It's always been a jokey type product for us.
ReplyDeleteI"m so sorry...I hate that stuff. The only spam I ever enjoyed was the play...SPAMALOT! :-) The monkey bread and grapes had to be wonderful...did you eat those after every bite of spam to get the taste out of your mouth?? LOL It was one of those things my parents made us eat occasionally....I'm going gargle...Hugs!!
ReplyDeleteIt's okay. Though I have not had it in years. My dad use to have it when I was a kid. It is better fried. In Hawaii it's popular with eggs.xoxo Su Did you see I gave you the link within my blog for the tomato soup? Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Carla,
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday. Nope never tried Spam. It probably would be good with something fried like eggs I would imagine.
Kris
We always had fried spam when I was little and we went camping, I wonder what is in that stuff?
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
I never have eaten it but it was a staple of my childhood. As was Potted Meat and Deviled Ham.
ReplyDeleteYou are brave!
I've never eaten it and, if I'm honest, it is not on my list. But I did enjoy the Christopher Morley poem very much :-)

You are too funny - and adventurous! I've never had it - but am honestly impressed with your attempt! :) this made me smile this morning!
ReplyDeleteHaha. I ate Spam when I was a kid. Then I was told that it was made of all the pig parts that couldn't be used for anything else. I stopped eating it. :-)
ReplyDeleteYears ago....and I'm glad it was years ago! It is interesting to try new things though.
ReplyDeleteAte a lot of spam as a child - but not in recent years

ReplyDeleteCarla, do you know that my husband likes SPAM with toasted bread? It's ok with me, but don't like it as much as him. The animal crackers quote is delightful, and I will write that one down. I used to buy animal crackers for my son when he was a little boy. I still love them to this day. : )
ReplyDeleteThank you for the birthday wishes for Jess today.

Yuk - spam! It was forced on me at school... I've been vegetarian for over 25 years and thankfully it's a thing of the past...
ReplyDeleteAbout your dog question: Oscar was our first golden retriever - and now we have two more from the breeder that have been rehomed with us. NOTE - they are field or working golden retrievers, which is why they are smaller and a lot redder in colour. They are wonderful dogs - I wouldn't hesitate to get one!
I've never tried Spam before and am kind of frightened of it. Maybe someday I'll be in a situation where I might try it, but I can't really see myself going into a store to buy it. Haha.
ReplyDeleteI had Spam when I was really young, and I didn't mind it. I didn't know that it came in flavors... interesting!
ReplyDeleteI have driven by the Spam Museum before, but haven't stopped.
I might just have to buy a can... feeling nostalgic now.
My mom used to make "Spam buns" for us when I was a kid - ground up spam, tomato paste, cheese, seasonings (I think there was oregano in it). I don't remember exactly, but she spread it on hamburger buns and toasted it in the broiler - it was quite tasty! She actually made it for the kids and me a few months ago when we went to visit. Since I'm such a health nut now, I had to roll my eyes - but decided not to worry and enjoy sharing the "blast from the past" with my kids. :)
