The leaves fall,the wind blows,
and the farm country slowly changes from the summer cottons into its winter wools.

Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving, make every day a holiday and just celebrate living.

Not what we say about our blessings,
but how we use them, is the true
measure of our thanksgiving.

“After the keen still days of September, the October sun filled the
world with mellow warmth...The maple tree in front of the doorstep
burned like a gigantic red torch. The oaks along the roadway glowed
yellow and bronze. The fields stretched like a carpet of jewels, emerald
and topaz and garnet. Everywhere she walked the color shouted and sang
around her...In October any wonderful unexpected thing might be
possible.”
Elizabeth George Speare - The Witch of Blackbird Pond
Wishing you all a happy weekend.
Wisconsin is at peak Autumn color.
A beautiful weather forecast for the weekend.
Take time to pack a picnic lunch.
Make a quick and easy pasta salad. Grab some french bread and apple or two.
Head out on an Autumn color hike and let the world go by.

Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteCarla, Wisconsin looks lovely during Autumn. I love that picture of the tree's reflection in the water, that's very cool. My father-in-law grew up in Wisconsin, and he always talked fondly of it. It's one place that I'd love to visit.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend enjoying all that this season brings to us.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics, where I live in New Zealand, it doesn't get cold enough for the trees to have such dramatic coloured foliage.

Those are beautiful pictures. We don't see all those pretty colors here in CA, so I always like looking at people's pictures. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove the changing scenes in fall. Yesterday we picked up some lunch-to-go from our local BBQ joint and then drove to the pow-wow grounds nearby. It was the perfect fall day. We parked up on the hill where we could look across the grounds to the valley beyond and ate our meal, marveling at the beautiful golds and reds and tans. Your photos are lovely, Carla. I especially like the reflection of the trees in the water. xo
ReplyDeleteThe leaves are still green here, almost time to change. I love that photo of the wooded bridge. Charming.
ReplyDeleteCarla, those boys of yours tease you with the spiders? It reminds me of the time when my family played a joke on me around Halloween and put a giant rubber rat on the clothes dryer (I have an incredible fear of mice and rats Yikes!) Surprisingly, I'm not too afraid of spiders, but don't get me near mice. : )
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.

Beautiful pictures! I love this time of year - My favorite past time is "swooshing" through the fallen leaves on a hike. :) Hannah and I drove across the state to the Appleton area last weekend, it was a lovely drive.
