Strawberry Shortcake? What is your version of Strawberry Shortcake?
Whipped cream or no whipped cream?
Strawberry glaze or just strawberries?
My grandma Martha's version of Strawberry Shortcake was the little round cakes you found next to the strawberries at the market.
My son Atticus loves the shortcake recipe above.
In a few weeks it will be strawberry season in Northwest Wisconsin and we can not wait.
I really like strawberry shortcake with vanilla ice cream. Thanks for this recipe.
ReplyDeleteI see a lot of this in our future! I cannot wait! We love it, the perfect summer treat!
ReplyDeleteWe are about a week away from fresh strawberries!
Strawberries and cream ... Yum!
ReplyDeleteWishing you good things for the week ahead.
All the best Jan
I haven't had strawberry shortcake in such a long time. I used to make it all the time. Your strawberries look wonderful, Carla. I bet your boys love it when you make goodies for them. :)

I HAD to be sure I came over to visit you tonight so I could find the Strawberry Shortcake recipe! I am going to make this tomorrow night :) I have a fuzzy memory of this kind of shortcake growing up, so my mom or one of my grandma's must have made it? I also remember the little round cakes too!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm not afraid of butter! ;)
Mmm - so delicious!
ReplyDeleteStrawberry Shortcake is my mom's favorite. She would always have it on her birthday...with TONS of whipped cream!!
ReplyDeleteYum - I've never made a strawberry shortcake before (the strawberries don't last long enough and are expensive to buy lots) but I'm going to pin this recipe for sure.
ReplyDeleteHa! Did your boys tell you about Ced's wish for a birthday dessert! I knew better than to mess with it by trying to make homemade. (Flashback to the year he wanted cream puffs and I made the kind from the state fair. Most of them went totally uneaten. He later told me that he wanted the mini cream puffs one could buy at Sam's Club!)
ReplyDeleteHi Carla! :)
ReplyDeleteStrawberry anything is my favorite and this recipe looks so good! Strawberry season will be here in a week or two. I can't wait to move into our home and try this out!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Hugs, Kimberley
