The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another.
The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month.

In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.

I saw my first Robin yesterday. It's cold this morning but that's OK. Spring will appear when ready.

Agreed!! Hopefully it's not a full month...
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring, sweet friend! We have been enjoying warmer days which means the snow has been melting - yippee! I've even been opening the windows during the afternoon. Ahhh, I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm getting so excited for baseball. We have been enjoying the Spring Training games, but oh, there is nothing like the regular season {{smiles}} We purchased our first tickets a few weeks ago. They are right behind the Rockies dugout which are very hard to get so we splurged and got them. The game is in August agains the D-Backs. Can't wait! Anwyay...I'm rambling :) Hugs to you, dear Carla!
"In the spring at the end if the day you should smell like dirt" I just love that!
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring to you too!
That's very true!
ReplyDeleteI actually think we could change the words A MONTH to TWO MONTHS...lol Happy first day of Spring- overcast and chilly here...but no snow in the forecast so it's a good day. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to see that the calendar says Spring!!!! Now if we can go in a good direction and no more snow and lots of sunshine and nice temps rising we can all do the happy dance.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kris
I love the quotes! And being small enough to be way inside your beautiful tulip.
ReplyDeleteWe are feeling the spring big time down here in S WI. I have Daffodils several inches tall (no blooms yet), Alliums poking through the soil, birds flying in from every direction, and mild (for March) weather. Love it. This is the time of year when a tiny bit of latitude can make a big difference. Spring is coming on, and soon we'll both have flowers blooming like crazy! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteWe definitely have spring weather going on down here...temps in the 70s and sunshine! I'm holding off on planting though as I'm sure another freeze will happen before Easter...always does! Love and hugs!
ReplyDeleteWell, aren't both those quotes the truth! It's spring now but does not feel much like spring, and it's windy and raining here this morning. Bet you can't wait to get in that little greenhouse. I'm excited too. Love, Henny
ReplyDeleteHope your flowers will soon be blooming! Happy spring.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carla - that Margaret Atwood quote is one of my favorites. :) I can't wait until the snow is gone so I can play in the dirt! In the meantime, the weather forcast looks good for making maple syrup!
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
So, so, true. Though it is feeling more like spring and I saw my first butterfly of the season. I worried about the poor thing. Where will it find food? Waking up to the robins singing each morning fills me with so much joy.
ReplyDeleteHappy spring, my friend!
