Joy List Monday
♥ a weekly ritual ♥
a reminder to stop and pay attention to the little beauties
and graces that make life magical and to set aside time for gratitude each day
♥ the orioles are back and nesting in a tree in our neighbors yard
♥ our little wren is back and looking for a summer place to rent out.. he has been looking at two of our birdhouses
♥ a morning dove is nesting in the nook of our small shed
♥ we celebrated a birthday this past week
♥ our son is back to Wisconsin
A friend asked him what his favorite thing was that he was back to Wisconsin.
He said the weather! He was happy to get back to Wisconsin weather.
Some would say that is crazy! This boy does not like hot, summer in Georgia was something he was excited to miss out on.
Graduation from AIT at Fort Gordon, Georgia
Hold tight to the dreams you have today and walk with God in their direction.
Sam is now officially a part of the Wisconsin National Guard.
He will be attending college in August at Chippewa Valley Technical College for Computer Programming and Software Development.
During his time at college he will continue to attend monthly drills with the Guards. He will have a two week training each summer. Sam has signed up with the Guards for six years.
Some of you have asked what will he do in the Guards. If he is called up to help he is communications. He is in the Signal Corps.
If Wisconsin has a flood, he may get called to help. If Wisconsin has a forest fire, he may get called to help. Other states can ask for help from our Guards. Florida asked for help during the hurricane. Prayers for all of those who help keep us safe, police, firefighters, military and more.
Thank you again for all the support!

What wonderful to have him home and the graduation photos are so good. I know he'll be busy with college and everything else. But he'll have good weather through it all! heehee! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteHe looks so grown up now. Must be nice to have him home.
ReplyDeleteYou must and should be so proud of him!!! What a handsome young man who has chosen the right direction for his life, to help people. I hope that little wren moves in!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy your boy is home and starting his new chapter! You must be so incredibly proud of him (and happy he's home in WI). I bet he didn't like those Georgia summers. What are his plans for the summer?
ReplyDeleteWow Carla I am so very excited for Sam. He is such a handsome guy too. Looks great in his uniform. I had to smile when you wrote Sam does not like the southern heat and humidity and was glad to be back in Wisconsin. I have to agree I hate that hot humid weather down there too! Sounds like he has a lot of adventure to come with being in the National Guard and also starting college courses. It is so amazing to see him excited about what he has planned for his journey in life. I know how proud you are of Sam. I wish him so much wonder and adventure in his future endeavors. Enjoy having him back in Wisconsin.

Congratulations!! What a major accomplishment, Carla! You must be so proud and so happy to have him back under your roof. I wish him nothing but success in this next phase of his life and thank him for his service. I am always in awe of people who choose this path. Enjoy your full house, my friend! xo
ReplyDeleteLove the photos Carla! I know you are such a proud mama! Summers in the south are absolutely miserable so I know Sam is beyond thrilled to be back home! Even though he is home it sounds as though he might be busy. The weather across the US is so unpredictable with wild fires, tornadoes, flooding and rain! We will keep you all in our prayers! Love and hugs sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you Carla, that your son, Sam is home. What a proud mama you should be. He turned out to be such a handsome young man and now he has a career. May God be with him and keep him safe in his duties.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame him for not liking the heat. I can't take heat and humidity very well and i prefer the cooler weather for working.

Oh Carla, what a handsome man in uniform you have there. He looks so good. I know you are proud of Sam and glad to have him home.
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures so much. So glad Sam is back home!
ReplyDeleteHow proud you must be. I love the photos. Nothing like a man in uniform. I wish him all the best with his schooling and pray that he is always safe in God's hands when he is called to duty.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely Sam is back home, and I so enjoyed seeing the graduation photographs.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
