Joy List Monday

 Joy List Monday

♥ a weekly ritual ♥

a reminder to stop and pay attention to the little beauties and graces that make life magical and to set aside time for gratitude each day

♥ Our kitchen is done, all that is left to do is some trim work and I plan to sew some some curtains. I will share proper photos soon. We are so happy with the results. It was a big job for the two of us, it feels great to have it completed.

♥ Treats from the bakery.. we had a craving for donuts.

♥ A thrift find.. a sturdy bulb planter.

♥ A Mourning Dove is nesting in our Wood Shed. She has laid two eggs. She is sitting on her nest. If you look at her nest she has used some hop flowers in her nest. I can see her sitting when I look out the window from my desk.

♥ Easter treats and spring flowers.

Happy Easter my dear friends.

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile.

Carla

  5. So much goodness! I love your kitchen!!!! It really looks fabulous! I also got my bulb digger thrifting (or at a yard sale). Those Easter treats look yummy. We saw that bunny is giant form at the Lenox hotel in Boston this weekend. Those bakery treats look so good! I love the mourning dove nest story. We get them too but not so close that I can see the eggs in the next.

  8. Oh, I love, love that big kitchen sink. It's looking fabulous. I can picture you happily cooking your Easter meal in that lovely kitchen. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your renovated kitchen.

I found a dove egg right in my daffodil flowerbed. There was no nest. I felt really bad. I guess, it didn't had the instinct to built a nest, the silly bird.

I was looking for your annual Easter bunny cake. Maybe in another post.
Happy Easter to you and your family.
    Hugs,
    Julia

  9. Your kitchen cabinets and sink look so nice. I have always wanted a sink like that, and the blue of your cabinets is pretty.

Isn't it amazing that the eggs even stay in mourning dove nests without getting blown out. I have a big imagination, but to me it looks like Mrs. (or maybe even Mr. Dove) placed the hops flowers just for the way they look so cute there.

I have two big pots of chives that die back and hang over the sides of the flower pots in winter. I used to pull all of the dead chive leaves out during one of those winter yard cleaning days, but one year I didn't. I was so surprised on mornings as I looked out my door and saw robins and some other type of birds plucking those long dead chive leaves out of the flower pots and gathering them in their beaks in early spring to build their nests with the material. It is perfect length for birdnest weaving. The birds plucked nearly all of the dead chive leaves out of the pots to use. I leave them in the pots for the bird nests now.

    Happy Spring!

  20. Well, your post made me smile, that's for sure. Love Lindor truffles, and I love to watch the mourning doves that come to eat the grain I put out. How nice that you can see the nest and keep an eye on her. They don't build a very sturdy nest, do they!

  21. The kitchen looks awesome. Would love to have a view of the bird nest from my desk. You'll be able to see things progress; but stay safely away so the bird doesn't get spooked. Hope you had a wonderful Easter Week End.
