Anxious for Nothing

Hello Friends,

My friend Judy gifted me a study written by Max Lucado.  The study focuses on setting aside anxiety and fear in this ever - changing world.

I will be honest, I can get anxious. Living in an upside down world,  I think if each one of us is honest with ourselves, we can  say we feel anxious every now and then. Max shares that one way to replace your "anxious" thought is to replace it with "already". Look at what you already have. Treat each anxious thought with a grateful one.

"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."

Abraham Lincoln

  1. I have this book, but have not read it yet. But this is a trick that I have tried, and it works.

  2. Oh yes....anxiety is such a very real thing. This is great advice and I am going to remember this. I let too many things get to me and I end up feeling anxious and bothered. Thank you for posting.

  3. Carla, I love the writings by Max Lucado, and I used to watch some of his shows. He has such a calming way about him. There's a lot to be anxious in this world. It seems that people originally wanted to make things easier and came up with this or that, and often times their ideas just made things harder. Here's to learning new things, but doing things our own way to live a simpler life. : )

  4. Yes, Max Lucado is wonderful. I couldn't agree more with your thoughts about anxiety or the wisdom you've shared. Sometimes it helps me to think about how blessed and happy I am this particular moment (at least when those moments are good ones ;-) ).

  5. Although I do not know about Max, yes being anxious can be daunting. Abe Lincoln's quote is spot on. Janice

  6. I haven't read that author in years so I need to go back and find some of his books. I worry way more than I should!

I've not heard of Max Lucado but his thoughts to treat each anxious thought with a grateful one, does make sense.

  9. Good plan. I get anxious about the current political mess. How can a man with so many indictments even be allowed to run........trouble is I can't come up with an already to replace that anxiety with. It often disturbs my sleep. Exercise helps some though.

  11. Our eldest daughter came out of the womb a worry-wart. She trusted the Lord as her Savior at the age of six and is a lovely Christian and pastor's wife, and mother. But she's still a world-class worry-wart, hahaha! She worries like it's her job and she's up for a promotion. I have often said to her: "The beginning of worry is the end of faith -- and vice versa." And then I say it to myself. Hahaha! Oh what needless pain we bear! Oh for grace to trust Him more! Happy Easter Week, my friend. xoxo
