Veteran's Day 2025

I found this book several years ago. It is so powerful. I encourage you to read it.
It is a children's book, it is so well done to bring the meaning of each veteran's gift of freedom to us.
Thank you, Hero's!

A little - known tradition to the outside civilian world, "the white table" originated during the time of the Vietnam War as a symbol for and remembrance to service members held prisoner of war or missing in action. Solitary and solemn, it is the table where no one will ever sit.

Thank you to all men and women in uniform who dedicated their lives to freedom's cause.

Honoring our Veteran's today.

Below is one of my favorite photos of the welcome home ceremony for our son and the rest of the 157th.

  1. I saw several of the white tables in Branson this past weekend. This is a city that truly honors all who serve. I know this would be a great book to read. Happy Veterans Day Carla...

  2. Thank you for this post! I literally got tears in my eyes and a chill up and down my spine when looking at that last picture and thinking about all the hope and joy that was in that room as people anticipated seeing loved ones. I'm grateful for your son's service and everyone who serves or served.

  5. I wasn't aware of the white table meaning. Thanks for sharing! Our town hall has a wall with veteran names on it and today we plan to visit it to see my dad's name and my husband's grandfather's name, too. We honor all who serve. Thank you, Sam!! xo

  6. I am a past President of the VFW's Ladies Auxiliary - I loved serving our veterans in that capacity years ago. Veterans day is big in my patriotic town so a busy day is ahead! It pleases my heart to see how it really does please our veterans that we can honor them for their service and sacrifice. That father reminds me at one of my son's homecoming from deployment in Norfolk as we all waited for his carrier to arrive - The poignant scenes of daddy's seeing their babies for the first-time, young couples embracing, mom's hugging their service member and dad's with a firm handshake and hug, saying I'm proud of you - I'm telling you I was a mess as I know, you know.
Thank your son from my family for his service. We truly appreciate him and 157th for their mission and thank you for raising a son who was willing to answer the call.
