Books Fall Open

Books Fall Open
David McCord

Books fall open,
you fall in,
delighted where
you've never been;
hear voices not once
heard before,
reach world on world
through door on door;
find unexpected
keys to things
locked up beyond
imaginings.
What might you be,
perhaps become,
because one book
is somewhere? Some
wise delver into
wisdom, wit,
and wherewithal
has written it.
True books will venture,
dare you out,
whisper secrets,
maybe shout
across the gloom
to you in need,
who hanker for
a book to read.
Johnny Tremain
 We enjoyed reading Johnny Tremain. A story of a boy who becomes a man. A boy who only thought of himself, changes into a man who cares about others.
Carry On, Mr. Bowditch
Carry On, Mr. Bowditch
A story true to its title, Mr. Bowditch carries on. Things never seem to go his way. He does not give up. A wonderful story.

  1. I love the poem. We LOVE books and we like the ones you shared. I love the book Johnny Tremain but didn't care for the movie.
