The Annual Easter Cake

It has become a tradition of mine to make the boys an Easter Cake. It usually makes them laugh hysterically as to what mom "tried to create" this year. It is all in good fun and I would not have it any other way!
This year one of my boys will not be home for Easter. He will get to see the famous 2019 cake via a photo sent by text message. I do love technology to keep up with family and friends.
Bunny Butts .. I made cupcakes in 2017.

The Peep Chick's nest.
I do know who's recipe I am going to make

Click on the above link to check out Kris's recipe. I have been lucky enough to eat some of Kris's treats!! Yummy! My boys have enjoyed each one of her new recipes I have tried.

If you have any decorating the cake ideas, please pass them on to me.

  1. What a fun tradition to have with your boys Carla! I popped over to Kris's site, and have started following her, because I just good recipes that have been home tested and tried! And being as my family is in the trucking business as well, we probably have a lot in common, lol! I am sure you will come up with something very fun for this year's Easter cake :) Blessings and hugs to you!

  6. I'm looking to sew your new Easter cake creation. You cannot break that tradition. My kids are very insisting on keeping traditions from their childhood.
I hope you are having some spring weather.
    Hugs, Julia

  16. That's a fun tradition. We're going to be in Australia this year over Easter, with all my husband's family, so not really worrying about eggs and buns this time.

  18. Years ago I had a bunny cake pan from Williams Sonoma. It was a solid bunny, who stood up. It looked great in the catalog. Based on my experience, it was made for a master baker. Which I am not! 😉 We don't have that pan anymore. Now I make pies and used a bunny cookie cutter to decorate it!

  19. I think you're the one to give cake decorating tips. These are so cute, Carla!Cake decorating is not my forte at all. My mother-in-law used to make all the birthday cakes for our first two children while they were growing up. Sure do miss her and her cakes. My heart goes out to you this first Easter with your firstborn not home to eat Easter dinner with you. But I know you and your husband are so very proud of what he's doing, and your blog friends are too.
