Poppyseed Bread
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups oil
3 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 teaspoons almond
1 1/2 cups milk
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3 Tablespoons poppyseed
Grease and flour 2 loaf pans. Mix all ingredients together for two minutes and bake for one hour and twenty five minutes at 350 degrees.
Top with glaze
Glaze
2 teaspoons melted butter
1/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 teaspoons almond
Heat butter and sugar until melted, stir in the remaining ingredients. Cook for four minutes and then pour over bread in pans. Remove bread from pans after glaze has set.
Poppyseed is one of my very favorites and our family loves this recipe.

Carla, that looks so good! I remember the good times baking cherry pies and rolling out little cinnamon rolls from the left over pie crust, for the children to eat when they came home from school. There's nothing as nice as when your children are still young and you are all together. I miss that. hope your day is stress-free and happy =)
