It is a Barbeque Chicken Hodgepodge

Hi, Welcome to the Hodgepodge.

Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.

1. Speaking of April 15th...what's the most 'taxing' thing you've done recently?

We switched internet providers. The 'taxing' part of this process was we had an e mail address with this internet provider. And I needed to change my e mail address on many, many things.

2. When did you last take a taxi somewhere and where was that somewhere?

Chicago
Union Station Chicago to our Hotel

3. What's something you can do today that you couldn't do a year ago?

I can speak some German. I have been using RosettaStone to learn German.

  4. How often is chicken (in some form or fashion) on your menu at home? Which of the following would you most like to see on your table tonight...a chicken salad sandwich, your mom's fried chicken, a Chick-fil-A meal, Cracker Barrel's chicken n' dumplings, a roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings, or 'hold the chicken, I'm a vegetarian'...?

We have chicken at least two times a week or more. We love chicken. My husband makes the best Barbeque Chicken. I do enjoy visiting Cracker Barrel. We have to drive over three hours to get to a Cracker Barrel, so it is a fun time! I love the Cracker Barrel store.
I would love chicken n' dumplings.

 5. What was your favorite television program when you were a kid? What characters do you remember the most?

I did not have T.V. while growing up.
I was older when we got our first T.V.
I remember watching The Rocky and Bullwinkle show.

 6. What was the last piece of 'art' you made?

I designed a fun Easter card for all of our family members.
I included my boys poems.

The end of Winter is near.
The Winter will soon pass into memory.
We will soon see the birds.
The wildlife will be active.
The Robin will soon return.
Sam TePaske

Spring Has Come
Spring is here, mud and all
No more cold Winter
Birds are back, signing their songs
Soon we will be outside!
Atticus TePaske
 7. What frustrates you most about the Internet?

Advertisements

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

California strawberries have been on sale at our local grocery. Yummy, a true taste of what is to come...SUMMER!

  2. That is so neat that they have lessons together. I am learning French, but my goal is to finish and start German. German is hard, it's nothing like any other language I've tried to learn!

  3. Good Morning Carla, Tell Sam and Atticus that I enjoyed their poems very much. Great idea to include these on Easter cards. Your husband's bbq chicken must be a real treat. We have a Cracker Barrel about 30 min. away. Last year, we actually had Thanksgiving dinner there! Funny you mention chicken and dumplings....we are headed to our favorite little café about 5 min. away for lunch today. Wednesday is chicken and dumpling day with strawberry cobbler for dessert! By the way, your strawberries look so good. Have a nice day.

  4. p.s. I admire that you are learning German. Our neighbors who have been visiting next door have very thick German accents and often revert to speaking in German. Also, when I was 20, I had the privilege of traveling to Germany with my parents. Daddy worked for the mass transit co. in Atlanta and Germany is where the buses were being made. We were there at Christmas and it was postcard beautiful!

  6. I love the little poems! And I love strawberries! For some obscure reason, strawberry season is almost over here. But we can have poetry whenever we want.

  7. Your boys did a great job on their poems! I've had some California strawberries recently too and they are really good. I like them with a spoonful of coconut cream. I like to visit Cracker Barrel too when we travel. Last time I was there I bought a beautiful wicker basket :)

  8. I just bought some wonderful strawberries too. I like to pick them here, but that's usually early June. The way the weather has been this year it might be July! Enjoy your day!

  9. You can speak German? And you learned it as an adult? That's amazing! I took French in junior high and high school and I can remember much of it, but I would love to really be able to speak it fluently! Very cool!

  10. The poems that the boys wrote are excellent. They really should keep going with these. Do they have a journal for their writing? I'm catching up today. Hope it's been quiet at your house now....no crashing! Sweet hugs, Diane

  14. I love the boys' poems! And those strawberries look delicious. Sounds like we both have chicken a lot. I haven't made BBQ for quite a while. Must do that! Sure hope you're loving this weather as much as we are. It's going back to cold next week.

  17. I've never been in a taxi! Interesting that you have been learning German. We have been talking about using that same program to learn a new language. I didn't know if it really was a good method, but... I will look into it now!

  18. Oh, my goodness, Carla! German? That is a very tough language to learn.. I'm impressed. Your boys' poems are delightful. That was a neat idea you had -- to include them in the Easter cards you made. Great capture of the strawberries. They look yummy. xo ~ Nancy
