Playing in the dirt, that is where I have been. I had all intentions on letting you know where I would be this week. Time got away from me, here I am today to give you an update. The forecast Monday - Wednesday was beautiful. The forecast for the weekend called for rain. So off I went to plant. I am happy to report 4 of my 5 garden plots are planted.
Garden Bibs
I bought some garden bibs and love them. I can place my tools, seed packets and phone in all the pockets the bibs provide. And they are comfortable too!
These boots are made for gardening.
Gladiolus ... the following basket full of corms for planting.
My garden at home.
My celery!
Little seeds, grow please.
Picking rock. This was the first step at the community gardens, my son helped me pick rock.
It was so nice to have this job done before I started to plant.
I have one plot left to plant at the community gardens.
It was a happy gardening week!
I love your garden bibs! You have been busy! We had a nice, steady rain earlier this week which was very welcome. Wishing you guys a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to get busy in the garden after such a long winter. I like your bib overalls and the color. We have been using aprons here. Our weather is turning to summer. Thank goodness, May has not been too bad this year. xoxo Su
ReplyDeleteHurray for you! I know from a little bit of experience in have huge beds that it is a ton of work! It really looks great, Carla and I'm so excited for you. Keep us posted with pics as things grow up and up and up!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way---what a picking rocks?
Jane
You have been busy!! I love your garden bibs. The color is so bright and cheerful! Much better than my old denim overalls.
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty bibs!!!And the boots, too-good and sturdy (for stomping snakes...lol). Looks like you got a lot done and are ahead of the game. I am not really gardening this year. I will do some pots on the patio and porch but that's about it. I will clean up the beds that I have but not add anything this year. Guess I will live vicariously as I watch YOUR gardens grow. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYay! Have fun! Getting the garden in yields such a sense of accomplishment, doesn't it? :)
ReplyDeleteI am way behind on my blog reading, having been on vacation. It is so nice to be back and catch up on all your news. I used to love playing in the dirt, when did I stop?

Yipee! LOVE the color of the bibs!
ReplyDeleteI hear the weather up there is not the best this weekend. There are all sorts of festivities going on in Door Co where my in-laws are and they are not happy with the forecast.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
I admire your hard work. You will have a beautiful garden.
ReplyDeleteI am jealous. Your gardens look great! All I've gotten planted are 3 rows of beans. doing everything by hand this year takes forever. It was too hot for me yesterday - that did not help. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get more done. Hope everything grows well.
ReplyDeleteLovely post Carla, and I love your garden bib.
ReplyDeleteMay your garden grow so well ... looking forward to seeing the progress over the next few weeks.
Take Care
All the best Jan
Carla, your garden is wonderful. I didn't realize that you spent so much time caring for it. I have such a small garden, but I go out there every day and clip and prune and water. It's good for the soul, and I absolutely love that last picture and quote.

LOVE the bibs! I am so excited to watch your garden grow!
ReplyDeleteWe are trying to keep up with the weeds in our garden. So much rain... Glad that it isn't so dry anymore, but the weeds... Oh my!
Great colors!! You are the most fashionable gardener I know!!
ReplyDeleteBusy girl and very bright! I love how cheery you must look in the garden - I know your smile is big and bright! 💕
ReplyDeleteI love your overalls, the color is beautiful, and pockets are always such a blessing! I have an apron that I wear in the garden, and fill the pockets up with tools, seeds, gloves, whatever I may need, lol! Your gardens look amazing, it is a lot of work to plant, but so rewarding once everything starts to grow!
ReplyDeleteLove your garden bibs, Carla! I've been on the lookout to replace my sadly fallen apart overalls. I miss them!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your gardens coming along. Congratulations on your new venture!!! :) I'm so excited for you!
