Joy List Monday
♥ a weekly ritual ♥
a reminder to stop and pay attention
to the little beauties and graces
that make life magical and to set aside time for gratitude each day
♥ Our son Atticus started to not feel well Wednesday evening. A high fever, no energy and very uncomfortable. As the weekend arrived he slowly started to feel better. Happy to report Sunday afternoon his appetite improved, he went outside for some fresh air and his temperature is normal. ♥
♥ hot tea ... an awful weather week here in Wisconsin, with freezing rain. A wonderful cup of hot tea makes the day feel warmer.
♥ a phone call from my mom ... it is always hard when you have a sick family member or friend. You feel helpless at times, it was good to chat with my mom.
♥ my older son coming in from outside and declaring "Mom, I will help you get to the car, it is awful outside!"
♥ having a heart to heart conversation with my oldest son ... he is growing up! I am so thankful for our special conversations, just the two of us with a cup of hot chocolate.
♥ the following laughs that were shared with with me, during a rather difficult week.
What a great way to start the week....even if the Packers DID LOSE yesterday we STILL have much to be grateful for, don't we? lol
ReplyDeleteThose are all great joys. Hope you have a wonderful week. xo Diana
Your sons are such special young men...caring and loving like you. I still love having those heart to heart talks with mine even though they are all grown up now. LOVE the Disney quote...read it aloud to hubby! Hugs!
ReplyDeletePopping over from Nan Diana's and love your blog post about joy. What a great way to start your week! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Atticus is better, that was a bit of a scare! We have a yellow alert weather day, too. Rain, flooding, and sleet. LOVE the quotes, especially the Disney one!
ReplyDeleteThat was a long sickness for Atticus! I'm glad he's feeling better. IT's always scary with a fever! We've had colds and coughs around here but luckily nothing too serious, just a bad lingering cold for the high schooler. What great young men you are raising! The weather is here is so cold and rainy today! It's awful!! I'm thankful to be indoors!
ReplyDeleteGlad he's feeling better! It's no fun when your kids are sick...the worry...I get it. I'm glad you were able to chat with your mom. I miss that. xo
ReplyDeleteThese always make me smile. I LOVE that love that you have for your children and they for you. It makes me so happy and warms my heart. I can feel that love my friend and I totally get it! I'm so happy Atticus is feeling better. We've been okay this Winter (so far) but there are some nasty bugs around! Stay warm my friend - Heather posted a yummy minestrone soup recipe I might try, looks warm and yummy. If only I had a garden ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful young men you have. That made me smile that you got had a hand going to your car :) Glad Atticus is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThe meme's made me laugh... especially Snow White!
So tough when our kids are sick! We had a bug pass through here last week too, and thankfully we are all back on the mend now. There is nothing like a visit with your Mom and a hot cup of tea to feel better! That freezing rain is a mess. We have had some of that here. I try to stay home when it is like that outside. We have a new little puppy, and that has been keeping all of us entertained this week, lol! Hugs to you today dear friend :)
ReplyDeleteGood morning. Glad your son is feeling better. So many virus's floating around. Always love your Joy List.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Week.
Hugs,
kris
Hi Carla. I'm glad your son is feeling better. I remember wonderful chats with my son when he really began to mature. We still have good talks (he's 39 now), but I cherish those long past talks. I'm sure you do, too. Love the Disney meme. :) xo
ReplyDeleteI detest freezing rain and we have had a lot of it this winter. Our car is having some work done and so there has been no need for me to drive anywhere this week, thankfully. A hot cup of tea ... great advice and I'm glad your son is feeling better. Got a huge chuckle out of those laughs at the end of your post.
