Book Reveiw ~ Bear Town

My latest read or should I say listen. I listen to audio books the two weeks I do my Meals on Wheels route.

I have read A Man Called Ove, My Grandma Asked Me To Tell You She is Sorry and And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer all by Fredrik Backman.

Bear Town was very different from my favorite, A Man Called Ove.

If you have read Bear Town, what was your opinion of the story?

Fredrik Backman has become a favorite author of mine. He has a way of digging into the heart of the matter. And writes about how love can hurt in an honest way.

  1. I have a long list of books on my summer reading agenda, but the sun and sand have captured my attention this season, and I haven't turned a page. I love the idea of listening. I used to do that when I cleaned in the house in the winter. Right now, I am partial to the sound of the waves though...was is a good book?

  2. In summer, I can seem to find time to read. I normally read in bed but lately, i fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. I've been reading Energy Healing Donna Eden and the book is still on my night table.

Those books sound interesting. I would love to see the movie, A Man Called Ove.

    Enjoy your summer.

  3. This does sound interesting. I loved A Man Called Ove. Did you watch the film too? I really enjoyed that too! I've been listening to a book in my car too.

  4. I have never heard of this book. Bless your heart for doing Meals On wheels! Our church participates, but it is so hard getting people to sign up.

  5. Usually in the summer I read at least a book or two, but this summer has been different. I started to read a book back in June but it didn't catch my attention so that was that. I suppose with the upcoming move my mind is on other things and I'm pretty confident I'll get back to reading at some point.

  6. Fredrik Backman is super popular in Sweden (of course)! I really must get around to reading some of his books.

  7. That book is on my request list at the library, will let you know my thoughts when I eventually get to read it. My mum does meals on wheels, and I remember helping my Nan do it about 30 years ago.

  8. Last summer while on a blog break I read several books. This summer I'm blogging again and I've read zip. Hmm. Maybe audio is the way to go right now. I can listen while I'm weaving or sewing. Did you like Bear Town?

  11. I've never tried an audio book. I should try it and see how it works for me.
