One For My Baby ~ It is the Hodgepodge

Get Ready!
Get Set!
Go and join up with the Hodgepodge.

A special Congratulations to Joyce, the author of the Hodgepodge.
She is a Grandma!

Take a peek at Snips and Snails and Nana Tales to share in the excitement with Joyce.

 1. Do you try to set rules for yourself about how you use your time? Explain.

Yes, I do. I have a daily to do list.
I also set month and year goals that I work to achieve.
I also limit my screen time. Which sometimes can be hard to do.

 2. Monday was National Lighthouse Day. Have you ever visited a lighthouse? If not, do you have any desire to see one up close? Of the 10 Most Beautiful that made this list which would you most like to see in person-
Lindau Lighthouse (Germany), Fanad Lighthouse (Ireland), Portland Head Light (Maine), Yaquina Bay Light (Oregon) The St. Augustine Light (Florida), Peggys Point Lighthouse (Canada), Start Point Lighthouse (England), Tower of Hercules (Spain), Bass Harbor Head Station (Maine), and White Shoal Light (Michigan)

When you've been away, what's your 'lighthouse' telling you you're on the right road home?

I love lighthouses. I have visited several. My love of them started during a road trip that I shared with my grandpa and mom. We traveled to Michigan via taking a Ferry across Lake Michigan.
We sailed the SS Badger click here to learn more.

Out of the 10, I will pick Bass Harbor Head Station (Maine).

When we travel West to Montana our ride to Montana is full of prairie and sky. When we travel back to Wisconsin we know we are getting close to home, Wisconsin is full of beautiful trees.

 3. What have you unintentionally stopped doing? Is this something you need to pick back up and begin again, or is it something you need to let go of for now (or even permanently)?

I have not been getting up at my alarm. I get very busy in the garden during the summer. As the summer starts I go to bed later and later. I do not mean to hit that snooze button two or three times.

Yes, I will need to get back into the routine, school will be starting for the boys. We all will need to be back at it.

 4. We've had a full week of August. Share a GRAND moment from your month so far.

Enjoying time with our friends on their boat.
The boys had a GRAND ride!

 5. Tell us one song you love with the word 'baby' in the title.

Frank Sinatra - One For My Baby (And One More For the Road)

  6.  Insert your own random thought here.

We went to Dunkirk over the weekend.

We felt it was well done.

  2. I think I accidentally deleted your comment on my Hodgepodge post. I use using my finger to swipe the screen instead of the mouse pad. I know better but do not always do better. Anyway, it looks like a ton of fun out on the water was had! I tried gardening a few times but found out my thumb is as far from green as a thumb can get. LOL

  3. I bet the ride in the inflated raft is fun. I see you have biceps as big as your son.

My alarm is set for 5:15am but it used to be set for 5:00. Instead of ignoring my alarm clock, I added on another 15 minutes. It works for me.

Congratulation to your friend on becoming a grandma and congratulations to mother and baby.

I used to sing Rock-a-bye- baby when I had babies.

    Hugs, Julia

  4. Looks like your boys had a great time. I rarely set my alarm now unless I have an appointment to get to. One of the good things about being retired.

  7. Oh my! That does look like fun! I wonder if I am still brave enough to do something like this! When my boys were growing up....I did everything they did. (well at least once! hahaha) Hugs!

  8. I always love these posts. I am like you-when we travel it is always fun to get back to WI--I think it is one of the prettiest states...even though I was not born and raised here. Hope you have a great, blessed Wednesday- xo Diana

  9. Love your boat pics of the kids having fun! I would love to visit the northern states. We did go to Oshkosh, but it was for the air show, so we didn't see much else. And we saw Dunkirk yesterday. So very sad what they had to face, but wonderful the way they were rescued.

  10. Haha! Isn't it funny how we came away from Dunkirk with such different impressions. :-) Anyway, I enjoyed your Hodgepodge, Carla, and love the photos of the boys behind the boat. That looks like so much fun! When we're coming home to Wisconsin from out east, we always stop at Beloit - so seeing the sign for Beloit always makes me happy. I know we're almost back into Wisconsin (with only 5 hours to go). :-)

  11. Oh the boating looks like such fun! I loved boating but my inner ear problems with dizziness prevents me from doing it now, but I remember how fun it was.
Loved the photos! I'd love to see a real lighthouse, have never had the opportunity to do so. Maybe one day! Enjoy the rest of your week!

  14. I bet the boys were having a blast on the water!
Those darn snooze options. What did we ever do before them?!

  15. I love having Fisherman pull me with his boat, but it's 5 hp so a LOT slower than that! lol

That song reminds me of my father. I just love it!

  16. Such great shots of great times on the boat! My Mom saw Dunkirk - she said she felt moved and exhausted at the end. Have a great weekend my friend!

  17. I live on an island. There are lighthouses all over the place and yet, I never get sick of looking at them. There's something very romantic about them...
We had a grand week, spent it at the ocean with a fabulous view and there was no cooking or cleaning for this mama. Your grand moment looks like fabulous fun!
