The Little Garden That Could .. The New Farm Stand

Back in 2012, I started to sell flowers in the front yard.
I had a card table at first.
Then a little farmer market sand.

Each summer I would struggle with wind. Wind would knock over my flowers in jars and did not help vase life for the bouquet.

During the off season I talked to my contractor (aka my husband) about a design that could be enclosed, not cost much to make and not be an eye sore in the front yard.

 I wanted a rustic look.

Using the roof from my old farm stand. Lumber from my dad that he had in storage and other re purposed wood, my husband created my new farm stand.

Here it is .. The New Farm Stand .. I am very happy with it. I have placed bouquets in it during the heat wave we have had and they did very well.
The stand is located under our pine trees, it keeps it cool, the bouquets have shelter from the wind and it is rustic looking. All what I was looking for. My husband designed and built my new farm stand.
The walkway into the farm stand, steps and rocks around it all were designed and done by my youngest son, Atticus.

The season has started and I am so happy to have this new farm stand to put my flowers.

Red, White and Blue bouquets just in time to celebrate the U.S. of A.

Happy July

  1. I LOVE it! It looks amazing. How smart to get the family in on it! They are all so talented as are you. I'd love to drive up and buy some of your flowers.

  2. Looks great! Hope your sales go well.

  3. I left a comment this morning and it evaporated into thin air. I love that you found recycled material to make your little Farmer's Market stand and that Atticus was helping with the landscape design. I think you should sell strawberries and blueberries. It would be more work for you, though unless you had a U-Pick.
Have a great 4th of July.
    Hugs, Julia

  4. How cute. Love your garden stand. I am sure business will pick up better than before. Would visit if I was in the area! Janice

  5. That is just darling! What a very creative crew you have helping you make your farm stand dreams come true. Fabulous. I would totally stop...

  6. It is fabulous. I wish I lived closer to come by and buy some of your pretty flowers. I know people up by you are loving your flower stand. It is so great that everyone was able to pitch in and be part of this. Have a great 4th.

  7. Carla, I love your little flower stand. I am excited for you. It reminds me of a rustic little playhouse, and you know how I feel about playhouses. :) Your's is perfect! Cute and sweet, just like you are. There should be lots of customers stopping by for flowers and to admire your little place.

  8. It is so pretty, Carla! Your husband did a great job. I would sure be visiting your flower stand if I lived anywhere near you and taking home a bouquet for the table regularly.

  9. Very nice! Hope you have a great summer of sales.....

  10. You have the best contractor and designer! It looks absolutely charming, and so appropriate for you. Hope the season is a success!
