  1. Carla, Looking at the picture you posted made me think of the autumns that all my daughters were still my little girls. Every fall the girls and I would go to Brown County State park in southern Indiana. We would drive through the bump in the road, Gnaw Bone, In. We would see a mule turn a wheel that was grinding sugar cane into sorghum. I often wondered how many miles that mule walked in that circle. We would hike around at the park and have a picnic lunch. Then when we left we would go thru the burg called Bean Blossom. We would stop and buy apple butter or pumpkins at a road side stand. Gone are those days of laughing with and enjoying " my little girls "....some of my daughters have gone there with their own children. Thanks for making me stop long enough to remember. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. There's no autumn color here, yet. Carla, but I can feel a slight change in the air. The water even looks different as the sun sets over it. It's coming... :)

  4. There is so much I love about fall...and every fall I look at the colored leaves and think, the leaves this year are the prettiest they have ever been. Fall is when Poppy and I used to go to the mountains of NC for a few days. We would stop at all the little roadside stands and buy apples and cider and pumpkins and baskets. Most of those little places would have a fire going in an old potbellied stove...oh it's just the best feeling.

  9. My favorite thing about autumn is the leaves changing colors and the cooler temperatures. Especially this year when the high temps started so early and have just started to come down.

  12. I have to admit I am a summer girl but I do love when fall comes into Illinois. I love the crisp cool mornings and dew on the grass. We love to take a drive north and over the border to your state of Wisconsin to see the leaves changing on the trees. There is a back roads way we go to a popular apple farm. So at the end of our drive we get the best apple cider donuts and pick our own Apples. That is a favorite thing for us to do when Fall arrives. We have been in the high numbers yesterday and today but the weather man promised fall is coming this weekend to stay. Love 70's during the day and 50 to 60 at night. Having the windows open for sleeping. Life is good. Have a super duper week.
    Hugs,
    Kris

  13. My favorite thing about autumn is that my granddaughter Kaedyn came today and decorated my apartment with wreaths, placemats, drawings, window clings, and honeycomb pumpkins. It is so bright and colorful now.

  14. My favorite would be the leaves changing color. Sadly we don't get much of that here is Southern California but I do remember it from my 38 years living in the Chicago area in Illinois. What I would love to do is to be able to see the Fall colors of Central Park in New York. That's on my bucket list.

  15. I love everything about fall! The colors, the temps, the changes, the holidays, the first frost, the end of the mosquitoes, cleaning up of flower beds, the pumpkins.... I could keep going, but my coffee cup needs refilling :)
