An Autumn Getaway to Lake Superior
for a boy and a girl
and a little canoe
staying in a sweet little cabin
sharing time outdoors
canoeing
hiking
evening campfires
revisiting goals and making new goals
talking about growing boys and a soon to be empty nest
this little getaway was perfect
and
just what we needed!
The below photos are of our sweet little cabin.
It was just perfect for the two of us.
The kitchen was red. A red fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee maker.
Soft lamps and candles making it cozy.
We had a fantastic time canoeing, hiking, touring apple orchards, antiquing and enjoying campfires in the evening. It was just what we both needed. Sometimes you don't even realize you need a break from the day to day. Oh my, was this good for us as a couple. We had lots to talk about as our lives are changing as our boys are growing up and moving on. Sharing goals of where we want to be in the next five years. It was a fantastic getaway.
I will share photos of our hikes, canoeing and more.
Have a great weekend!

Carla, what a dreamy little home...oh my goodness, it looks so sweet and charming. That tiny red fridge is adorable. And changing times call for a reboot. I totally get it. We need to do the same thing. Sounds amazing. xxoo
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! The view of the woods from your cabin is so pretty, and the cabin is really unique and lovely. I especially like the red kitchen!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad it was just what you and Jeremy needed! Here's to many many more happy memories for you and your family! That cabin looks SO cute! I love the red kitchen and the bed, the wood walls. All of it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect little cabin in the woods. The Great Lakes are such great getaway spots, aren't they? We camped at Lake Huron this Summer for a week on Tawas Point. You not only have the big water, but you are blessed with woods, sky, and wilderness. You can tell by your post that this is just what you needed. xo
ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect. So glad you got to getaway and refresh yourself.
ReplyDeleteOh Carla, I can feel your joy and refreshment in this posting!
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious little "red" cabin the two of you were blessed to enjoy, not to mention all the other pleasures you experienced while away.
Your time as husband and wife, alone, makes for great times to think and talk about life. Good for you!
I look forward to more of your. :-)
Joy!
Oops! Ha!

It's getting away from real life and reconnecting. Very important. Looks like somewhere my husband and I would enjoy.

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful getaway! Glad you enjoyed it so much!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! We need to do that, too, although we've been empty-nesters for several years now. It's actually nice, especially if your kids live nearby and visit regularly. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the look of that amazing cute cabin with red accents
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling little cabin! You really do sound (write) like it was such a blessing. Couples do need these times and it was smart of you both to make time for it. I love all the things you managed to do together while away.

ReplyDeleteSo pleased you enjoyed your get-away.
ReplyDeleteThe cabin looks great, I enjoyed your photographs.
