It is a Knotted up Hodgepodge!

We have enjoyed a week of frost here in my neck of the woods. One of my dear friends shared " it is like living in Narnia."

Hello Friends, it is Wednesday and that means it is time for the Hodgepodge.

Joyce asks the questions.

We answer the questions.

From this Side of the Pond

1. When were you last a guest at an event or in someone's home? Tell us about it. Do you enjoy having guests in your own home?

We visited my parents for Christmas. We traveled to the farm and shared Christmas together with my parents, my sister, her husband and our family of four. It was a true blessing, with lots of belly laughs!!

I do enjoy having guests in my home.

 2. What has you 'tied up in knots' currently or recently? Are you any good at tying actual knots?

My stomach is in a knot regarding the violence our country has endured in 2020 and the first week of 2021. Last week I asked for prayer for our National Guard son regarding the possible unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This week I will ask for prayer for our National Guard son for the possible unrest at Washington DC or Madison, Wisconsin.

I am not very good at knots. I have my own style of knot and my husband usually asks "what is this?" The Carla Knot?

3. What's something you've been wanting to do and have decided 2021 will be the year you 'take the plunge'?

At this time my only goal is to make two T-Shirt Quilts, one for each of our boys. I am not the best seamstress, but I plan to take the plunge.

4. Something in your home that's old? Our House! It is over 100 years old. Something new? We just painted our boys room and made it into a guest room. Something borrowed? Furniture, I have a table passed down to me from my grandparents. Something blue? Blue dishes.. I love the color blue.

5. Share a favorite quote, a verse of scripture, and/or a bit of wisdom for couples getting married in this challenging and seemingly unpredictable season we're currently/still experiencing.

God has joined your hearts. Let Him lead the way through your life together.

 6. Insert your own random thought here.

  3. I'm not living in the USA and my stomach is in knots. I pray for peace and that God's will be done. I also pray for the safety of your son and his buddies.

Good luck with the t-shirt quilt. I can't wait to see some progress.
    Stay well and safe.
    Hugs, Julia

  4. It's a very worrisome time for our country, that's for sure. I'm praying and will add your requests to my list. Have a good week my friend. Sweet hugs! (and for our grand total of 2020 hikes...157!)

  5. Belly laughs are the best! I love the idea of t-shirt quilts, I hope you share them when they are finished.

  6. The frost is beautiful but I'm glad it's outside your window instead of mine. I'm no good at tying knots either but my family joke that I can seal a gift in wrapping and tape that takes some kind of expert to get open. Usually scissors or knives are involved, haaahaha! I don't know what I'm afraid will happen if I don't seal the gift up like Grant's Tomb. xoxo

  8. Your always so creative with the hodgepodge. :) Narnia, indeed! We haven't had the frost for a few days, but it lasted for about a week and was incredible!

  9. The Narnia comparison is awesome! It has been so cool to see the fog do this to our Wisconsin landscape

  11. It has been so beautiful this past week! My daughter has been taking a lot of pictures. :)
I love the "Carla knot"! Haha!
I'm excited for your t-shirt quilt. Quilting is so fun - to see bits and scraps of things come together into something beautiful!

  12. That Vet sign is so funny. Keeping Sam in prayer. Let's hope next Wednesday the transition of power will go smoothly and in light of what the Government has done for the impeachment of the president will not insite any unrest or violence. We need this year to be better than last year and we need to all come together in peace. Have a good day today Carla. Thinking about you. xoxo

  14. I love entertaining in my home and we haven't had anyone here since last March. I have hosted a few Zoom parties, on New Year's Eve for example, but clearly not the same.

  15. These are always fun to read! I bet it did look like Narnia. Beautiful! The Carla knot sounds like a good one. That is so cool about your house being over 100 years old! Spending Christmas with your family must have been wonderful. Thinking about you a lot lately and sending prayers!

  17. We are not allowed more than one person in our homes and only immediate family. I visit my patents regularly, they live ten-minutes away by car, but other than that its been ages. I miss visiting and entertaining.
