My son is swimming in cranberries during the 2021 Cranberry Harvest.
Hello Friends, it is Wednesday and that means it is time for the Hodgepodge.
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.
1. "A daughter's a daughter all her life, but a son's a son til he takes a wife." What say you? Elaborate.
I find this to be true. And as it should be.
"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." Genesis 2:24.
2. Something you've seen recently that was 'cuter than a June bug'?
We recently went on a 14 mile canoe trip. Along the way we saw a doe with triplets. The fawns were so cute and obeyed mother as they crouched down to blend in with the background.
3. 'You can't buy happiness, but you can buy ice cream and that's pretty much the same thing.' Agree or disagree? Last time you had a serving of happiness ice cream? Dish-cone-milkshake-sundae...which one do you choose?
Yum, ice cream! We enjoyed an ice cream cone after an afternoon of fishing with our youngest. All three of us enjoyed a waffle cone with our favorite ice cream flavor.
4. What is one way/area in which you're currently 'swimming against the tide'?
I am starting a new project, one that I wanted to do long ago. I am feeling a wee bit overwhelmed, perhaps drowning. Thankfully I had a friend come over last week and start to give me some direction on how to get started.
5. Three things you're looking forward to this summer?
♥ my garden
♥ time with my family
♥ fun in the sun
6. Insert your own random thought here.
The children worked long and hard on their little cardboard shack. It was to be a special spot - a clubhouse, where they could meet together, play, and have fun. Since a clubhouse has to have rules, they came up with three:
Nobody act big.
Nobody act small.
Everybody act medium.
Charles R. Swindoll
Love their clubhouse rules.
ReplyDeleteThose clubhouse rules are good for life in general too : ) How long did it take to canoe 14 miles? We have kayaks and I think I might wear out before hitting the 14 mile marker. Good luck with your project!
ReplyDeleteI love those clubhouse rules!!
ReplyDeleteAlways love your answers. Love the clubhouse rules too. xoxo
ReplyDeleteGreat clubhouse rules! Seasonal ice cream places (many with homemade ice cream!) abound here in New Hampshire. We take advantage of them often during the summer.
ReplyDeleteI'll think of your son every time I eat cranberries.A new project. Now you got me curious...
ReplyDeleteI think those clubhouse rules are just about right.
Have a pleasant day.
Hugs, Julia
Of course now i want to know what your new project is!
ReplyDeleteFun rules! That's pretty cool to see your son in that cranberry bog. Canoeing for 14miles. Good for you and how fun to enjoy that swishing pace on the water! Smiling that we shared the same verse from Genesis today.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun shot of your son in those cranberries. I do love them too! Also like reading your answers to the hodgepodge. Good luck on your project. Janice
ReplyDeleteToo cold to swim in newly opened pool here too!
ReplyDeleteWonder what it FEELS LIKE, to walk around in all that water and cranberries??????
Gentle hugs
💛😊💛😊💛
I am so fascinated by cranberry bogs! Great shot. Also your quote about money reminded me of the one my mother loved and often quoted: "Anybody who says money can't buy happiness doesn't know where to shop" ... haahahaa I KNOW where to shop but I can't afford to shop there! Haaaahahahahaa let that sink in xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun canoe trip that must have been! Hope your project goes well :)
ReplyDeleteI love that with the cranberries. I like that Bible verse. Wow, what an awesome canoe ride you had. Would loved to have seen those fawns. Yum on the waffle cone. How nice that you have a friend who could give you some direction. Love your list of three things. Also love your random. Take care.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - that's a lot of cranberries! Good luck with your new project Carla.
ReplyDeleteI love a summer Hodge Podge! I bet your garden is really coming along! I hope you are feeling better about your project. I love waffle cones!
ReplyDeleteI loved your answers. Wow. A 14 mile canoe trip sounds like long. I'd be so tired.
