Hello Friends, it is Wednesday and that means it is time for the Hodgepodge.
Joyce asks the questions.
We answer the questions.
1. When did you most recently need to 'think fast'? Elaborate.
Just last Wednesday.. we went to mail a package to our deployed son. We had a new person working the front desk of the Post Office. She had not been trained on a military address and became very frustrated. We had just visited the Post Office last week to mail a package to our son. Her frustration was growing.. I thought fast and shared what we did during the week before when coming in to mail a package. She calmed down and we got the package mailed.
2. The Hodgepodge lands on National Fast Food Day. What was the last fast food you ate? I ordered a mushroom and swiss burger with french fry and an ice tea to drink. What's your favorite fast food? Culver's How often do you grab fast food? Not often.
3. Life in the fast lane, get nowhere fast, on the fast track, not so fast...pick one and tell us how it applies to your life in recent days
Life in the fast lane.. because life is moving along.. and Thanksgiving sneaked up on me.
4. Are you a fast walker? fast talker? fast worker? fall asleep fast? stay fast asleep without too much trouble?
I am a fast walker.
5. What is one 'hard and fast rule' in your house?
NO.. devices at the dinner table.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Happy Thanksgiving
♥

Love your answers. Have a great Thanksgiving too. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteAs always I love your answers. I'm just thinking how much your care packages must mean to Sam when he receives them. He's lucky to have a caring mom like you.
ReplyDeleteI love the Thanksgiving cartoon. Happy Thanksgiving.
HUgs,
Julia
We don't allow devices at the table either - at home or in a restaurant.
ReplyDeleteGreat house rule! Glad you could calm the post office worker down.
ReplyDeleteLoved reading the Hodgepodge answers. Chuckled at the turkey. Thanks for the laugh! Janice
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, the turkey cartoon is too funny!!! Quick thinking at the post pffice!
ReplyDeleteI agree, no phones at the table. It's funny, the kids are the ones who decided it should be a rule. I love that...
ReplyDeleteSorry about the issues at the post office. That sounds like a delicious burger. We have eaten at a Culver's in Utah and I've had it in Florida. Yum! True, things are moving way too fast for me. That's a good rule. We actually haven't had any issues with that with either of the kids but my sister's kids never get off their phones!
ReplyDeleteI keep getting an error message when I try to publish my comment, so, if it's repeated I apologize I texted that your fast food order has me drooling.
ReplyDeleteDarn you! Now I am hungry for Culvers. It is the best fast food around, I think!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your package off to Sam. That's always a challenge at the post office when someone new is working.
It is so cold here! A high of 28˚ today and snowing lightly. I hate taking Scruffy out in the snow.
Have a wonderful weekend, Carla! xo Diana
Love the turkey joke and glad you got the package mailed.
ReplyDeleteGlad you did that, to help the person deal with military mailing. -smile-

Have a happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteM good wishes.
All the best Jan
I am a fast walker too. Cliff often asks me to slow down!
ReplyDeleteLol...love the meme!! Have a wonderful week!!
ReplyDeleteThe mushroom and swiss burger sounds delicious, Carla. I also get a mushroom and swiss burger now and then at a little drive-in down the road. They make them so good. I like 'no devices at the dinner table.' It gives loved ones a chance to talk quietly without distractions. Happy Thanksgiving, dear Carla. I'm thankful for your wonderful blog and for your friendship all these years. : )

I'm not a fast walker anymore. I do better to slow down and walk longer. Rarely do fast food, and when we do it's Wendy's or Jimmy John's; had no idea there was a fast food day. Never heard of Culvers, we must not have them around here. It is a hambuger place? We will have pork tenderloin for Thanksgiving. Not much into Turkey, and we're not doing the big family gathering again this year, partially due to Covid, but mostly because hubby just had surgery. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers. I work for a postal annex and the ones that tend to stump me are international packages. Those can be confusing. I've rarely gotten frustrated though, well, at least I didn't let it show.
ReplyDeleteI have to walk fast to keep up with my crew! That burger sounds yummy. I don't know Culvers. I'm glad you got the postal worker to calm down. Now she'll know what to do for the next people who need to send military packages? Do you get free shipping? I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHello. This photo is stunning. I love to take a walk in the forest.
ReplyDeleteThanks for finally talking about >"Happy Thanksgiving Hodgepodge" <Liked it!
ReplyDeleteI used to say, no books at the table! Things have changed! And thanks so much for your sweet words of comfort to me. They mean so much. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteHaahaha that cartoon is perfect. Poor turkey. He'll soon figure it out xoxo
