Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home ~ Our South Garden in bloom in early September 2022.

Hello Friends,

Today I want to share with you a message I recently read from Charles Swindoll that made me smile. I think it will make you smile as well.

The beautiful music of living is composed, practiced, and perfected in the harmony of home. The freedom to laugh long and loudly... the encouragement to participate in memories and deepen our roots in the rich, rare soil of authentic happiness.

It made me smile, because it is so true of how important home is. I love when I can invite others into the comfort of my home. I enjoy decorating my home for the seasons. I love when my boys are excited to come home.

Home Sweet Home

And speaking of home. Below is a photo of our chicken coop and the chicken run. I love when the leaves fall on the roof of the run.

The below photos where taken in early October on a lovely sun dance day.

The coop is all winterized for our dear hens. A cozy.. home sweet home.

  1. And so cute, and neat as a pin! Those are lucky hens and I'm sure they know it. As for home ... all I can say is that I often tell my kids and whoever else will listen, that the mere idea of domesticity lights my brain up and gets it firing on all pistons. A neat cozy house, candles lit, cooking, feeding my loved ones, enjoying one another's company ... that is what makes the world go round for me. The Lord designed it that way and it's perfect. xoxo

  4. You Home Sweet Home is just that, a Home Sweet Home because you made it that way by your caring ways. Your chicken are indeed lucky to have you as an owner. I would love to live closer to go visit your place.

Today in Canada we celebrate Remembrance Day and honor and remember men and women who have served and continue to serve our country in time of war, conflict and peace. God keep our countries free.

I salute your country and mine.
    Hugs, Julia

  6. I liked the verse about home, Carla. Thank you for sharing it, and it spoke to me right away, as home is my favorite place to be. How nice that you made a nice home for the chickens also. Your photos always delight me. I love that orange bucket. Your garden is coming along beautifully.

Have a peaceful weekend, dear friend.

  14. Yes Home Sweet Home. Not everyone can enjoy a nice home, but for those that can afford one, I pray that they can have a special one where they can entertain and decorate like I can. Love your lil chicken coop too!!! Janice
