On The Road Friday ~ Ceska Opera House

 Hello Friends,

Today is on the road Friday and we are off to the Ceska Opera House.

Friday, December 2nd, my husband and I went to an Old Fashioned Christmas Show at the Ceska Opera House.

Before we went to the show, we went on a little light tour.

You can tell by looking at the flags flying in the wind, it was a windy winter night to be out on the town.

The Nativity is above the doorway of the building in the above photo.

It is beautiful.

Heading towards the Ceska Opera House.

It was a sold out show.

We are getting ready to go and get some refreshments before the show starts.

Local talent made up the entire program. It was fantastic. Skits, music, readings and lots of laughs.

"Politically Correct Christmas" performed by the Uff-da Players was a true hit.

A beautiful presentation of the Nativity.

And as each guest left we were given a goody bag filled with old fashioned treats.

Peanuts, an apple, an orange and old time candy.

It was a lovely way to begin to celebrate the Christmas season.

Thank you for coming along with me to the Ceska Opera House.

  3. That sounds like a delightful evening with your best friend. I love those types of entertainment. Before Covid, our little group of women would put out some night of entertainment for Christmas. We would get together and write our own skits and we perform to entertain our parishioners for hours. There was so much laughter. How I miss
those days. Sadly we no longer can do it.
Our leader has to stay home and care for her blind double amputee husband and we have lost quite a few good actors. We always had a ball doing this even though it was a lot of work.

Your treats were like the ones we would get in our stocking at Christmas when I was young.

    Take care and stay warm.
    Hugs,
    Julia

  6. A perfect night out!! Ending with a lovely, old-fashioned gift for each. I'm pretty sure my favorite would be the live nativity!! (Nice opera house too).

  7. That looks like such fun and reminds me of the things we did when I was a girl. I grew up in a college town and we always went to plays and musicals there at Christmas time. Sweet memories!

  9. What a nice time you had. I love the building. It reminds me of the brewery building we went through in Milwaukee last year. I love the original buildings from the Midwest. I really love the old churches.

  10. What a charming evening! I love local theater. My daughters were involved for years and I used to make costumes for the productions. The holiday shows were the best, I miss it.
