Hello Friends and Happy May
Our snow has melted and with the melt comes the beauty of the roaring rapids at Slough Gundy of the South Fork of the Flambeau River, Wisconsin.
My husband is taking a video of the rush and roar of the water.
I cannot get enough of wandering..
textures.. fragrances.. sounds.. shadows.. movement.. light.

Oh, I've always wanted to see the rivers and lakes during a snow and after it melts. I have yet to see the creek nearby during a snow. It's hard to drive there. This is so pretty, Carla, and great of your husband to get a little video of it. I love your last words. It shows that you are a true lover of nature. And that's so special, Carla.
ReplyDeleteHappy May!

I like the scenes you photographer of snow, rocks and water.
ReplyDeleteAn exciting time!
ReplyDeleteI can almost feel like I'm there!
ReplyDeleteThe sounds of things becoming unfrozen and life returning. Yay hope for nice weather and new smells, sounds and eye beauty. Happy New Week sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteWow, it is beautiful as long as no one is getting hurt. That's what it is like at Mark's shooting rain. He can't even get in, can't cross the raging water.
ReplyDeleteGlad that winter may finally be over for you.
ReplyDeleteWOW that is a lot of water rushing through. Hope no flooding. Janice
ReplyDeleteOur water is rising here, too. The tides in spring are always high, but we don't get those roaring rapids. I'd like to see that!!
ReplyDeleteWow! the river rushing over the rocks and flowing so fast past the shore looks amazing! How exciting it must be to see and hear! Happy May to you. xxoo
ReplyDeleteBurrrrrrr you picture makes me cold, but happy to hear your snow is melting. I love warm weather and am sad our spring hasn't been very nice to date. Still getting frost, and temps still too cold for my liking.
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe you still have so much snow up there! I imagine your forecast is much more "springy," as ours is, too. Great post!
ReplyDeleteThat looks exhilarating and a little bit frightening! I would not want to be in it but it reminds me of some forgotten book read years ago where all the people would gather to see the ice break up and surge down the river, a sure sign that spring was there at last. I like your wandering words.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, still so much snow!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your photographs.
Keep safe and well and enjoy your May days.
All the best Jan
It looks COLD!! It is beautiful though. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteHi Carla, I think some of my comments may be going into your spam folder !!!

What a charming post. I am not a wanderer as such -- or rather, not very outdoorsy. You are so at one with nature. I admire that. xoxo
