In the Name of Love it is the Hodgepodge

My favorite Valentine, my mom made me several years ago.

It is Wednesday, that means it is time for the Hodgepodge.

Joyce asks the questions.

We answer the questions.

Click here to join the fun!

 1. What area of your life feels like you're stuck in a Groundhog's Day loop, doing the same thing over and over? Does it bother you or is that just how life is in this particular season?

Paw prints from the snow and ice on the wood floors. Ernie cannot help it, it is the winter season. If it drives me too crazy, I will do a quick mop. I would be doing this every day. I try to not let it bother me and say to self, "it is the winter season." It usually gets to me by the third day and out comes the mop.

 2. Something that makes your heart skip a beat?

My husband, Jeremy. I am blessed to have him. He is my best friend.

3. Do you wear your heart on your sleeve or are you more of a closed book? Elaborate.

I am in the middle. I use to be more on my sleeve. But as I have aged, I have become more of a closed book.

4. According to Prevention Magazine, these are 25 of the best foods for heart health-

wild salmon, sardines, liver, walnuts, almonds, chia seeds, oatmeal, blueberries, coffee, red wine, green tea, soy milk, dark chocolate, raisins, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, whole grains, apples, oranges, grapefruit, avocado, avocado oil, olive oil

Which five do you include in your diet most often? Are there any foods on the list you simply cannot abide?

The five I enjoy most often..

coffee

green tea

dark chocolate

raisins

olive oil

And what I cannot abide..

sardines

liver

broccoli

cauliflower

5. What was the last piece of furniture you bought? Is there a piece of furniture you need/want to purchase this year?

Two arm chairs are the last furniture we bought.

We do not have plans for any new indoor furniture. I would like to upgrade our outdoor furniture.

  2. I love #6 laughed out loud and hubby was wondering what I was laughing about.
I enjoy reading your Hodgepodge answers, I would have to say I too am in the middle on wearing my heart on my sleeve but am really starting to lean towards being a closed book too.

  3. Love the cartoon. I must be one of the few people responding here who will eat liver lol

  4. The only one I don't eat is liver. I don't think I've ever actually tried it? The cartoon is funny. I think I'm heart on my sleeve for my close people, and not for anyone else. 2 Outdoor swivel chairs was my last furniture purchase, mainly because of a winter sale I had to take advantage of :)!

  5. Oh that cartoon is just too cute.
The only thing I can't have is the soy milk or soy by-products and the dark chocolate unless it's made with cocoa butter instead of soy lecithin. I love broccoli, brussel sprouts and cauliflower and also cabbage. We eat a lot of brassica because we love it.
    Hugs,
    Julia

  7. I can relate to that cartoon right now. I feel the same about little handprints on the windows. I periodically wipe them, but as long as there are littles in the house there will be handprints. When the kids go home and I see them it makes me smile. Then I wipe them off lol. Have a great day!

  8. That is sweet answer to your heart skipping. I should have listed liver, too. The texture makes me gag. Fun cartoon. Happy mopping to you! :)

  11. Aww, that's sweet about your husband! We have friends who have four dogs. They struggle to keep their floors and other surfaces clean with the dogs especially in the winter!

  13. Cute. I hear you about the dog paw prints. We're currently tearing out some old carpeting that aged even faster during the past six years while we've had Nicholas (we only had cats before that). Wood, laminate, tile, and other surfaces you can mop are so much easier. Sweet messages about your Valentine and your heart. <3

I am with you on the foods that you can't abide, liver especially!

  15. Morning Carla. I'm with the little doggie...anywhere I can just be on the couch and rest. My answers would pretty much be the same as yours on the hodgepodge questions...only exception would be my husbands shoe prints. LOL. and a Definite NO on sardines. It's a sweet Thursday here...hope it's the same for you all.

  17. That is a very sweet Valentine. Sorry about Ernie's paw prints from the snow. Hooray for Jeremy. I like your lists of what you like and what you don't like, Hooray for some new chairs. I laughed pretty hard, out loud, at your random thought. Have a wonderful weekend. Debby

  18. That food list is an easy one for me. No avocado or avocado oil-- unless I am hankering for a load of benadryl or epinephrine. And I agree with the dog's answer!

  19. No sardines here as well. I like broccoli. I like how it absorbs the flavors of whatever its in and get such a richer taste. The heart your mother made you is lovely.
