My plan was to sugar violas to decorate my 2025 Easter cake, but things started to go all wrong with sugaring.
This was my first time trying this. I think I need to dilute the egg yoke with water if I try this again.
Not looking to bad.. until below.
Oh dear, not working out.
Plan B...
I decided to decorate the cake using fresh violas.
It was a Happy Easter Cake!!
The pansies look so good on the cake and that cake sounds amazing! Thanks for the recipe. I will try it for sure!
ReplyDeleteI have made this with fresh fruit on the top of it. So yummy. Love your version with the little pansies. I cheat and use the sugar cookie dough already made up. Have a beautiful Friday.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kris
I'm sure it tasted yummy!
ReplyDeleteThe sugar cookie bars look Yummy. What a delightful Easter cake you made. I like how you put the little violas on top, it looks simple and Springy. And the frosting looks really good. There's nothing like homemade frosting. ; )
ReplyDeleteHave a happy rest of the week, Carla.

Oh that looks so good and a sweet treat my husband would love. I’ll be saving this recipe for sure. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
ReplyDeleteAnd there it is - the recipe I was waiting for! Yummmm-yum! I have to watch my own sugar intake for medical reasons, but I think this would be great to make and give as treats to my family, or the little old ladies here in the apartment building. I wonder if I could mimic the viola look using my mama's icing piping tips. It might be worth a try. Have a very wonderful day and weekend, Carla!
ReplyDeleteHurrah, the recipe! Well, the sugared ones don't look TOO bad...until I see the fresh ones! Yes, a big difference!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers look perfect and I think the sugared ones look great, too. Sugar cookies are my favorite, so I am off to pin this so I can make it soon!! Thanks for sharing the yummy recipe with us!!

ReplyDeleteThose cookies - just WOW - and the sugared violas - I haven't thought of that. I worried my violets just might wilt over - but you have inspired me to try!
ReplyDeleteAwwww that turned out so pretty! I hope you figure out the sugaring process because that would be so sparkly! Happy almost May! xoxo
